Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Huntingdon may be small, but its restaurants keep students well fed throughout the year. It's true that students often wish for more of them and more variety of cuisine, but for the nonadventurous eater, there's a good selection for Huntingdon's size. Restaurants around town are also easy to get to. A quick car ride or—if you're willing—a 20-minute walk will bring you downtown. While Mimi's might be more reserved for special occasions, students can always be found at Boxer's.

What you won't find is much cultural variety—there's no food bearing resemblance to anything Indian, Greek, or Mexican (not even Tex-Mex). However, there are charming diners, plenty of fast food representation, and lots of pizza places. OIP is immensely popular. Sheetz runs are a favorite pastime of hungry studiers in need of a quick study break, and students can be found at this gas station/convenience store at all hours getting food to go. Huntingdon's selection is no match for that of a city, but for its size, it holds its own quite well. And if culinary claustrophobia sets in, students can always hit the road. Altoona and especially State College are chock-full of great restaurants to satisfy anyone's appetite.
