Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Parking on campus can be a challenge, but a minor one. While a car is not at all necessary—or even practical—to get around the small campus, most students find it valuable to bring their own car, as it makes getting around and out of town significantly easier. At the same time, while having a car is recommended, you can get by without one, as many students have them on campus and you’re bound to be friends with someone who does. If you have a car, from day one you’re allowed to bring it, there are no restrictions in that regard. As a result, parking can seem limited, but it’s much easier to find a spot on campus or around Huntingdon than it is in a city or a more developed area as long as you’re occasionally willing to walk. And aside from the price of gas, parking really is the only hassle. Students often complain about it, and it’s often harder than some would like to find a spot near their dorms, unless they live by South Hall or don’t mind a quick walk.

As long as you’re not in a hurry, parking will most likely be a minor nuisance, rather than a major inconvenience. It’s easier to find parking off campus, but the streets are cleaned once a week and you will be fined if you don’t move your car. Parking regulations are strictly enforced, but if you watch out for them, a $25 pass to park on campus will be your biggest expense for the year.

Few Parking Lots but Easy Access

Many students park on streets close to campus. On-campus, there are few parking lots. However, unlike many other colleges, freshmen are allowed to bring cars on campus.

Not Bad at All

Parking at Juniata College isn't too much of an issue. Even as a freshman, there is always a place to park. You might not be able to park right next to your class, but did a 3-minute walk ever hurt anyone?
