| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
The sooner you start, the smoother the process will flow. “Sooner” is to be understood in terms of both your academic career and the academic year, meaning that interested parties should start their search as a freshman or sophomore and those scoping summer employment opportunities should treat Spring Break as a deadline, not a wake-up call.
If you have even a shred of self-motivation, you’ll be ahead of the game. Career and Employment Services, in addition to coordinating an annual career fair and conducting regular mock interview clinics, provides free consultation to any student in search of a job or internship. Other resources exist on campus to serve the equally ambitious but less focused. Academic and Career Information Services allows students to explore potential career options through a variety of assessments and interest inventories, while University Counseling Services provides multiple personality-based tests to help students determine the line of work best suited to their character.
