Athletics at Its Best

Our athletic teams are the best, and they are a big deal at our school. We excel in basketball, football, soccer, field hockey, and baseball. Our gym equipment is top notch, we have two gyms one located on each side of campus. Our athletes have trainers, nutrionists, and counselors to help them excel and succeed.

Fine Dining in Union

Every now and then students enjoy venturing off campus to enjoy a variety of foods. Unfortunately, the budget of a college student can be extremely slim, so here are a few ideas of low priced good eating in the area. I have not come across too many restaurants that offer a student discount besides the University Diner, which walking distance from the dorm rooms; Burger King, and Applebees, who usually has great deals for group or late dining. If you are interested in experimenting with cultural dining then you are in luck, there is so much variety from Afghan and African foods to Filipino and Dominican restaurants; and if you are a vegan or into kosher foods you have a variety of restaurants that serve those foods as well. Most of these good food places are located on route 22 or Broad St, both roads are less than ten minutes away from campus. Some great websites to look up restaurants when you have a craving or just want to find out what's around you are menupix.com and menuism.com. When you do arrive at Kean, you will feel so overwhelmed with excitement from all the food varieties this campus as well as this county has to offer, but watch out for that freshman fifteen.

Excitement in Union County

12 miles away from Manhattan, sharing the same avenue as over 50 cafes, restaurants, delis, stores, and night clubs. Yes, Kean University is located right on the border of fun excitement. Close enough to fun, but not too close so we students do not get side tracked with our studies. There are about five shuttle buses that Kean provides that transports students to various shopping centers, museums, and major transit stations for free.

Kean is within 10 miles of hundreds of activities such as kayaking and conoeing, camping, night life, art musuems and historical buildings, Bowcraft amusement park, and markets. If you like peace and quiet to study and attend classes, but enjoy spicing your days up every now and then once your work is finished, then I believe that Kean University is the school for you.
