It doesn’t matter if you’re into Abercrombie or Wal-Mart. It is almost impossible not to find people on campus you’re attracted to. You’ve got your geeks, your thugs, your jocks—all kinds of people to interact with. Most of the “lookers” are preppy, but there are attractive people of all stereotypical college groups. The general sentiment on campus leans toward hookups over relationships, but that’s not everyone’s scene. Kent State does not currently have any guidelines with respect to sexual activities in the residence halls. Many roommates establish some sort of “code” to let their roomie know they’ve brought someone over, but many students choose to wait for a more opportune time to get to know someone a little bit better—like when their roommate goes home for the weekend.

Out of every ten students on campus, six are female. Statistically, this means that Kent State guys shouldn’t have too hard of a time hooking up. But statistics alone don’t guarantee you’ll find a hottie. Most students at Kent State are generally outgoing, so if you’re shy and standoffish, you may find yourself in a loveless rut. And if you don’t drink, don’t expect to find that special someone at a party, where having morals is generally looked down upon.

Give Us More to Do

There is a very good ratio of girls to guys at our school. The only thing that I would complain about is the lack of social activities to do besides partying at the frat houses. Not my scene.

Greatness

The people of Kent State University are great! Generally speaking, the students are very nicely dressed and groomed and are hard working students, which makes the overall academic atmosphere fantastic. When a group of people come together for a common purpose, in this case to learn, I believe that purpose will be fulfilled. Kent State is an amazing school, and the people here make it even better. Additionally, there is somebody for everyone; there are girls and guys of every type, and I am confident everybody will meet somebody special at Kent State!

The Girls and Guys Are Rude.

When you walk around campus you'll see many girls and guys walking around campus. The guys are really disrespectful and the girls are so rude and needy. This campus is full of gossip and rumors and it truly reminds me of high school. Overall the freshman and sophomore girls and guys are really childish!

Social Scene

Think about everything you've seen on TV about crazy college house parties. That is the epitome of Kent State. There are parties everywhere, if you know where to look. Thursdays through Saturdays are a blur for the average Kent State student. The bars of downtown Kent are always booming on the weekends. Though many of the students are outgoing, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Many of the student groups have events off campus—some even without alcohol—where students who aren’t ready to jump into the party scene can mix and mingle.

Hookups or Relationships?

Though many of Kent State's finest are in happy relationships, the overall feel of the campus is leaning toward hookups. It's always fun to hear horror stories of friends and co-workers the day after a long night of drinking. Parties are good for hookups, not relationships.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

The general sentiment of Kent State students is to put partying above schoolwork any night, so the parties are where you’ll want to cruise to hook up with a hottie. The older crowd heads out to the bars downtown, while the younger students look for a good house party. Many of the area clubs are open to under-agers, so these are another possibility for meeting that special someone. Clubs and social organizations on campus are typically very large and will give you a large pool to choose from. The Greeks never seem to be single for long. Signing up for some of the classes at the Rec could also open up some doors.

Dress Code

This is definitely a preppy school. Those who don't have "Abercrombie & Fitch" or "Hollister" stretched across their chest are in the minority. Those who conform to the dress code definitely get more attention than those who don't. For guys, sweatpants, a mall T-shirt, and a baseball cap is the norm. For girls, rolled-up sweats and a midriff-showing top are typical.
