Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are many off-campus food selections available to tickle any college student’s taste buds, but for more variety, most Kent State students take a short road trip to one of the neighboring cities for a nice, sit-down meal. Many of Kent’s restaurants are independently owned, and they are a nice change of pace from the normal chain restaurants. That’s not to say the typical fast food fare isn’t available. There are places you can take a date in Kent, but the nearby cities offer a better atmosphere for budding relationships.

Be sure to go out and explore the city on foot, and try each of the restaurants in the area. Each place has its own unique group of regulars, from the artsy, vegan kids at Taco Tontos to the loud, sporty frat guys at Ray’s. The establishments surrounding the University know that they have to be affordable to attract the poor college crowd, so the prices are manageable, even on a limited budget. Students who are bored typically try to eat off campus at least once a week to escape the monotony of dorm food. It’s also nice to escape campus for awhile and just hang out with friends, or study somewhere other than your dorm room.

Not the Best Person to Ask

I haven't been to hardly any restaurants in the surrounding area, but I have heard many great things about some places. We do have a somewhat good selection of fast food off campus as well.

Off Campus Food Choices

We have a lot of choices for off campus foods. Such as Burger King, Chipotle, Wendy's, etc. The only problem is the walking distance to those places. There is also no popular restuarants around, such as Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Benihana's, etc.

Many Restaurants

There are plenty of restaurants around Kent State Tusc. Because the campus is so close to town! you can pick any restaurant and there will be one within at least ten minutes of the school! it's a nice option if you don't want to eat at the school or you have time to kill in between classes!
