Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Nestled in the Cuyahoga Valley of Northeast Ohio, Kent State exhibits many of the characteristics representative of many a Midwestern college but offers students a distinct experience that most would not trade for anything. Students fall in love with Kent State for a number of reasons, and many consider it a second home. Many graduating seniors are reluctant to leave their undergraduate home, even if they feel well-prepared to tackle the next stage of life. If they could start the college selection process all over again, an overwhelming majority of students would still choose Kent State. No University is perfect, and Kent certainly has its flaws, but there have been incredible improvements within the last few years, and many more are sure to follow.

In describing Kent State, many use the word "underrated," and it's true that the University does not receive nearly as much commendation as it should. Many academic programs are recognized as being among the best in the nation, if not world, and the University and town of Kent offer a myriad of opportunities and experiences for those willing to seek them out. As cliché as it may sound, Kent State's future looks extremely bright, and as the University continues to garner more prestige each year, students, faculty, and administration alike exhibit a general positivity and renewed interest in the school's continued welfare and prominence.

I Loved It

The people I met and the times I had were ones I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. It's such a great place with a nice setting around the trees that really gives it the true "college" type feel. Get ready for the house parties, the new downtown, fun basketball games, College Fest (just ask, HUGE party in the spring), and good times.

KSU Is a Great Place to Be

I have had an excellent experience at Kent State. I come from out of state, which has made my experience a bit different than most students who come from northeast Ohio. I have had a blast while being able to excell in my program, and I think all of that is to the credit of the University and the students and administrators in it. You're not going to find a lot of pretentitious people here, you'll get a good Mid-Western experience. The relative proixmity of Kent to multiple major hubs of activity like Akron, Cleveland or Columbus has afforded me a lot of opportunities for jobs and just having fun. I'm very roud of my school and had an excellent typical college experience.

Kent State has been a great...

Kent State has been a great experience. I’ve had the chance to meet a lot of people and do a lot of things I wouldn’t have been able to do at a smaller college. There are a lot more resources available.
