The volleyball team isn't given much to any respect against the men's basketball and football teams. They aren't very good but they get any and everything. The volleyball team has been 15-1 in conference twice and won two rings and we have NO RECOGNITION.

It needs to be renovated completely.

It's boing and racist here.

I don't party or go to clubs.

I had intentions for one minor but as soon as I switched my majors they got rid of it without telling anyone. The professors are very helpful though.

There really isn't any transportation. This is a small VERY small city. There aren't too many places to go.
College Junior 2013-11-05T00:10:31Z
There are a few suspended chapters. This I an HBCU so we have the Divine Nine and a few other societies. Some Greeks are snobby, others are the same as they were before they crossed.

In certain areas of study there are great computers and labs but for the entire school there is one lab and about 11 computers in the library. Sometimes the wifi works in the dorms sometimes it doesn't. It best to have your own laptop though.

Guys & Girls:
This school is all about cities. Most people from a certain city dress, act, and say the same things. The freshman class was large and VERY un attractive. The boys have no to little respect and the girls have no respect for themselves. The upperclassmen, me, are much more appropriate and proactive on campus.

Health & Safety:
There have been fights and guns on campus and not enough police to catch the kids. They have ruined yard parties and all they do is give out parking tickets. There's three security officers for all six dorms
College Junior 2013-11-04T23:59:32Z
I don't live off campus so I really have no clue.
College Junior 2013-11-04T23:57:50Z
The weather is similar to what it's like back in my city.
College Junior 2013-11-04T23:57:23Z
People smoke and drink all the time. There is no pressure to join in though.
College Junior 2013-11-04T23:56:01Z
The dorm I stay in is terrible, it has mold and insects running around. The only thing I like about it is that I've been here for three years and I am close to the dorm manager. If I could I would stay off campus.

Diversity at KSU is very good. There are a wide range of races and ethnic groups represented on campus, as well as traditional and non-traditional students. There has also been an increase in international enrollment in recent years. Although KSU is an HBCU, there continues to be an increase in the non-African American student population.

Parking on campus is for non traditional students is extremely limited. You often have to park across campus from the actual building where your class is being held. This is especially inconvenient for older students and those with disabilities.

The financial aid office was not very efficient during the first year of undergraduate study. Things improved after I was excepted into the Teacher Ed program. More grants became available to me and the office was better about notifying me of the various opportunities. They sometimes 'misplace' paperwork, so it is best to keep personal copies and review what they have in their files for you.

Health & Safety:
There are security guards on campus and emergecy buttons throughout campus. It is a small campus and everyone knows everbody.

The transportation at my school is fairly well. They have a free weekly Monday night bus that provides students a ride to Wal-Mart, but other then that there is no other transportation options. After my first semester here I chose to buy a car just to be able to get around because their are not many other means of transportation.
College Senior 2013-10-09T13:59:26Z
My experience with Financial aid has been really bad. The school seems to process information really slow, and on more then one occasion they have lost papers I have given them. I do feel that some people do their job better than others , but if the staff members all equally worked hard Financial aid would run much smoother.

I think our campus food is limited in choices. Sometimes we might have the same thing two to three days a week. The dinning hall is nice and has a lot of room but sometimes people do not eat there because the lack of choices.
College Student 2013-09-23T02:00:31Z
The diversity on the campus is pretty vast. We have an ample amount of international students from all parts of the world. Also, people don't really care about sexual orientation or religious beliefs. Although Kentucky State University is an HBCU we do not discriminate at all!
College Student 2013-09-23T01:55:17Z
Unless there is a party going on you will probably not find anyone outside.
College Senior 2013-09-08T18:56:32Z
There are pretty good places to eat around the school area. We do receive some student discounts at very few places. There different variety of restaurants located around the area.

Health & Safety:
I gave it an C, being that there are on campus police, but there way of taking action can be a little extreme; however, the accidents we have over the past years could have been prepared right with the right authorities.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
