Off-campus housing does not exist at Kenyon College. The remote location coupled with an old-fashioned board of directors means that students are required to reside on campus all four years. Dorms are guaranteed to students for this purpose, and they are priced so that off-campus housing is not a financial necessity. However, there are two exceptions to this rule: students who are suffering from substance abuse problems and students who serve the volunteer fire department. In both instances, these students can petition to live in special housing that is closer to either a treatment center or the fire department.

While the lack of off-campus housing can be frustrating, there is little chance of this changing in the near future. The Kenyon community thrives on communal living, and any change to that would drastically alter the campus atmosphere. To alleviate the concerns of the student body about off-campus housing, the College has undertaken a new housing renovation project, to be completed in 2013.

You can count the number of off-campus housing options on one hand. Pretty much everyone lives on-campus.

Off-Campus Housing

There isn't much off-campus housing...if your a senior you might have a chance (you got to know people). A pretty small campus, so if you have a car, anything is convenient (or even a bike). Parking is terrible.

NO OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING

There is no off campus housing unless you want to live in the neighborhood or Mt. Vernon which would make everything less accessible that is part of the school. There are plenty of opportunities to live in apartments or houses which aren't directly on campus but are relatively near it.
