Greek Life at Knox is pretty chill. Fraternities and Sororities hold events that cater to the whole college. It isn't a dominate part of Knox though, so people do not feel like it's an obligation to be part of a Greek organization. Greek organizations are mostly recognized because of their Philanthropic (community service) events. They really believe in helping the community they find themselves in, as well as other communities. In general, Greek organizations at Knox is about making friends and developing relationships with people you would usually not surround yourself with. It's your choice and it's not a big deal if you aren't part of it :)

We don't have many fraternities or sororities, but the ones we do have are full of entertaining and great guys and girls. They are very tight-knit with their guys and girls and they take care of each other and others who are interested in Greek Life. Parties are also fun and events are usually energetic and entertaining.

Greeks hold many of the fundraisers and philanthropy events. It is not a big deal to be in greek life and greeks and non-greeks are friends. They are not cliquey and all of campus attends their parties. I am in greek life and it has only shaped me into a better person.

Greeks Are Great – Warning, this review IS biased because I am a part of the greek system myself. That said, the Male Greek system is well developed, and contains a healthy portion of the population, I believe about 20%. They generally have strong safe parties, and participate in the school's social scene quite heavily. From what I've seen there is very little to no clashes between greeks and non greeks; often my non-greek friends are spending time at our house anyways. However the Female Greek life is highly undeveloped. Non of them live in house, and they have a very ineffective system for recruitment.

Always a Battle – Greek Life at Knox College is a battle, plan and simple. It is always receiving criticism from the campus and faculty. However, much of the criticism is based off of stereotypes. In reality, the Greek organizations are the most active in student organizations without having complete control either. Furthermore, they are the students most active in the community.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
