Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

In the realm of campus strictness, La Roche has to be one of the most relaxed colleges in the nation. La Roche just instituted a new alcohol policy and is trying to enforce it. The campus is now a dry campus. Anyone caught drinking or even possessing alcohol will be fined and maybe even asked to leave campus if he or she is a resident. They are also required to attend an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting and meet with a counselor.

Students seem rather pleased with the campus strictness or, rather, lack thereof. As a general rule, “whatever happens at La Roche stays at La Roche” can be implied. Campus security doesn’t want to be bothered any more than the students who are drinking want to be bothered, so if you keep it quiet and nonviolent, you can drink until your heart’s content. The RAs don’t want to be the bad guys of the campus. Most of them keep the attitude that if you don’t do anything stupid they’ll leave you alone. Most will only step in to a situation if someone or something is being harmed. They do a good job of keeping their floors under control. No rules of the campus are too ridiculous to follow either.

La Roche Policies

La Roche is a dry campus but not everyone abides. There is an honor code for academics. Secruity is available but is sometimes considered a joke. Losing housing is possible based on behavior, particularly with destruction of property and fire alarms. The administration could be more strict to prevent repetitive behavior.
