A crack dealer wanders up to you as you walk to your car. Students giggle as you pass by them because they are under the influence of LSD. The smell of marijuana lingers like a cloud over the entire campus. Sound familiar? Not if you’re at La Roche. The College has a very low-profile drug scene, and while some students say they smoke pot, it’s rarely done on campus. And on the rare occasion they do smoke on campus, it’s usually in an obscure place at night without any lighting, such as behind a building or under a bush. Alcohol is much more prevalent at La Roche, and it’s rare to hear of students here getting caught doing drugs.
So, if it’s a crack deal you’re looking for, La Roche probably isn’t the place for you. Sure, there are people who do drugs at La Roche, but there are people who do drugs everywhere. Since La Roche is secluded from the city and is a pretty private place, chances are if you are on campus, you are a student. There is no mix of city bums with students to dirty up the campus with drugs. The majority of students here seem to lead drug-free lives, making the drug scene the least of college officials’ worries.

Alcohol Visibility
La Roche has a very strict policy on drugs and alcohol. Although it is present it is very limited and most students leave the campus if they want to drink or do any partying.
