Living on campus could be a great choice, specially how wonderful are the rooms.

This school is a nightmare. Classes were great- easier than high school & the teacher to student ratio is great. But- the school has little respect among top employers. No one knows of it and those that do don't respect it. It's just not a good school. Furthermore it is in an awful neighborhood. It makes Newark NJ look safe. It's dirty and beyond scary. Anyone that thinks Lasalle has a great social life was most likely a complete dork in high school. It's very small, consists of many unattractive people and the parties are boring. There is nothing to do. Don't waste your money or risk your life going here. Lots of hicks from PA tend to go here and think it's great because they grew up in corn fields.

La Salle is located in North Philadelphia about twenty easy minutes from Center City. La Salle's campus is a safe haven in a not so great part of town. Downtown Philadelphia is gorgeous, boasting more statues than even Rome. On weekends you can take the subway down to Center City, Market Street, or Penn's Landing to see beautiful sights like the Art Museum, the river, and many other things. The attitude of local residents around La Salle is average. Some of the neighbors in the neighborhood really like talking to the students, but others are annoyed by our presence in the area. La Salle is safe itself, but the surrounding area is dangerous. It's not too scary as long as you act smart and stay in groups and well-lit areas. The food downtown, especially on South Street, is fantastic. My friends and I will constantly go down there to grab dinner in a trendy pizza place. We go dancing on the weekends in the 18+ clubs and always have a great time. The city of brotherly love is a WONDERFUL place to live and La Salle is a part of that greatness.

La Salle is close to the city so there are always places to go. But to some this may be a huge distraction

The school is in North Philadelphia which is not a safe area. The local people are not motivated to change their life situtations and have a poor attitude. Around the corner of the university is a wide variety of stores, transportation methods and food restaurants. The area has potential but only if the local people adjust their attitudes and want more for thereselves in life. Even though there is a police district down the street, that still does not make the university feel any safer.
