Unfortunately for the mainstream Lafayette students, weekends revolve around alcohol and partying. As said before, we work hard and play hard, so the end of the week, our bottles of vodka and rum are put to good use. Although it’s hard to generalize, it seems as though the majority of students drink—it’s hard to find a student who doesn’t.

For those who do not, there are plenty of activities on campus hosted by LAF each weekend. Lafayette opened The Spot, a club down the hill, where at least one party a weekend is hosted by student groups on campus. The Spot features a bar serving both soda and some alcoholic drinks, a small snack bar, pool table, foosball, darts, and the dance floor. As for hard drugs, pot is definitely prevalent on campus. If you want it, you can get it. Cocaine is here, but behind the scenes, and you hardly come in contact with it. Harder drugs, like heroin, are seemingly nonexistent on campus. Lafayette students try to avert Public Safety from the drug scene, and they do a good job of it.

At Lafayette, there's really not a... At Lafayette, there's really not a huge drug scene. The people who do it keep to themselves, and anyone else doing anything is probably just smoking pot outside a dorm late at night. Alcohol is way more popular. 12345 Drug Scene: February 26, 2009 Report
