Listen to Students Needs

Lafayette has only 2,400 students on campus, yet has 5 fully functional dining facilities. Having so many choices for such a small school give a wide variety to eating options on campus.

Dining services also really listens to what the students want food-wise. If a student suggests a change then dining services makes it the next day.

People underestimate the value and hard work Lafayette puts into making sure the food is above average. Compared to many other schools, Lafayette is doing a fantastic job.

D1

Lafayette is a D1 school but the football team has not been so great lately. All the other different sports teams are great though.

Laf Lehigh

The rivalry is really intense and fun. The Laf Lehigh Game is one of the biggest days of the year.

Little Things

- Two on-campus late-night food spots

- Two major dining areas close at 8pm, one of them closes at 9pm on Sundays

- Gigantic sports center with a sauna, ping pong tables, rock climbing wall, squash courts and a gigantic football field

- Great and large step team that competes at other schools, and has diverse members (black, white, Hispanic, Asian)

- Shuttle goes to the bus station regularly, to the mall on Saturdays, and to the cinema on Friday and Saturday nights till late

- Zip car available on campus

- Can borrow DVDs (including TV shows!) from the library, and as many as you wish

- Library closes at 1am Sun-Thurs. and at 10pm Friday and Saturday

- Quiet rooms in library

- Library offers Personal Research Assistants (PRAs)

- Academic Training and Tutoring Information Center (ATTIC) which offers free tutoring and supplemental instruction for math, science, and languages

- Cinema on campus, in student center, with $2 movies

- African and Caribbean students' organization exists on campus

Great, Not Much to Complain About Unless You're an International Student (You'll Get Homesick for Food!)

It helps to try new things out on the menus. There's a lot of variety at Gilbert's and at Lower Farinon. Once in a long while it might be a good idea to get something from off-campus, like Chinese, or Papa John's, or something from Campus Pizza (everything of theirs is soo good! and moderately to expensively priced). But the food on campus is great. Upper Farinon (all-you-can-eat) has really bad food, but Lower is great. Especially when you try new stuff on the menu. And so is Simon's! They make late-night sandwiches that are more like subs. Marquis (found in a dorm, all-you-can-eat) can be really terrible. But their pizza and pasta are amaazing.

Surprised

I like my friend group but the school is centered around greek life and parties. So it's hard to ignore that scene.

Incredible Opportunities

Lafayette is what you make of it. We have majors all the way from American Studies to Mechanical Engineering. We also have the ability to create your our major. There are also opportunities for student-faculty research, honors houses, and studying abroad almost everywhere in the world. Honestly, Lafayette has incredible opportunities all around the campus. We really are the epitome of "seek, and ye shall find."

Tough

The academics are really tough at Lafayette. If you want a good grade in the class, you have to work for it. Going to class and office hours is really helpful, and constantly reviewing your notes and staying on top is things is needed. The professors are super helpful though and there are other great resources to help you succeed.

Hott guys

The guys are really good looking and athletic.

I Love the People

The people at Lafayette are great. Everyone is super nice and knows how to work hard and party hard.

Campus Is Awesome

The facilities at Lafayette are really good. My favorite building is the library. It was recently renovated and the atmosphere is perfect to study in. The skill man cafe in the library is also very nice. The Farinon student center is also very nice and has 2 food places. Upper Farinon is a cafeteria and has really good food. Lower Farinon is more of a on the go eating place and also has great options. Over all the facilities are really nice and there are plenty of places to hangout and do work.

Computer Labs

There are a ton of computer labs and a ton of computers. The Library is always busy, but you can always find a computer somewhere.

Art

There are a lot of opportunities to go to galleries and exhibitions in Easton and the greater Lehigh Valley area, as well as New York. I love all of my art classes especially my art history class - Professor Sinkevic is amazing, and has an amazing interest in what she teaches. The facilities are quite good; the Visual Arts Building for studio classes is wonderful and quite big, and the Arts Center has a nice but small gallery. The staff in the art department are also VERY helpful and have a lot of experience in their fields.

RAINNN Smh

It can rain about ten times a day in the fall. No exaggeration. And it's terrible trying to walk across campus in the rainy weather, with the muddy lawns and wet sloping sidewalks/paths/stairs. But when it's sunny, it's BEAUTIFUL, that's for sure. Also it gets colder than other parts of Pennsylvania and the other places in the tri-state area, but it's not unbearable.

Good but Expensive

Campus Pizza has amazing pizza but is really expensive. It's also a wonderful hangout spot that's literally across the street from campus and a lot of athletes hang out there in the evenings and sororities like to have parties there with karaoke sometimes. Wok 'n Roll has great Chinese food but for delivery you have to be willing to spend at least 15 bucks, and for a college student it's not too wise to do it more than once in a long while. On-campus food can get tiring (but is greeat!) so off-campus dining is good just to mix it up a little, after a while.

It's Good.

I've bashed on the people that go here, but the school itself is really nice, challenging, and has a lot of activities to do.

Somewhat Strict

Public Safety can either be a menace to the drinkers and partiers or lazy and half-hearted in their attempts to eliminate crime. Depends on what kind of day they're having.

Great Place to Be

Girls and guys on campus dress nicely and, with very few exceptions, are very clean cut. You see a variety of styles around campus, but polos and sperrys are typical for boys, and girls in cardigans and flats. Guys are good looking and so are the girls.

I Have Really Enjoyed Lafayette

I am from Texas, and at first was hesitant to go to school so far away. But I have loved every moment at Lafayette. It is very easy to get involved and meet people and the social scene is very underrated. The academics are challenging, but very rewarding.

Parking Is Fine

Parking is relatively easy and accessible. By Junior year you can get a parking spot close to your dorm. Senior year you can get an off campus pass so you can park on the streets. Passes are around 300 dollars.

Could Improve

It's pretty big around Laf Lehigh and Homecoming, but otherwise most people simply don't care. Most don't attend sporting events. We really should stop being division 1. Were too small and can't handle it.

Alright. Could Be Better. but It Could Be Worse

Simon's and Gilberts are good on occasion. But the main dining halls are hit or miss and get tiresome. Hope you like WaWa.

Parking

There seems to be parking at the school, though a lot of it is reserved for faculty. There is a parking garage.

Fun

The students at this school dress like normal everyday students. From sweatpants and sweatshirts to skirts and dresses the attire varies, but it's all very comfortable and unique.
