Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students who live on College Hill do not usually use public transportation. In the event that they do need to get somewhere, they either a.) find a friend with a car, or b.) use the LCAT (Lafayette College Area Transportation). The Lafayette shuttle service, the LCAT, runs a few times a day. The bus makes hourly trips, from 2 p.m. to late into the evening, to Walmart, Giant, and a few other stops. The shuttle service is free, although on some days the buses are more unreliable than usual. A slightly prolonged wait isn't much of an issue, though.

Aside from the College shuttle, there is also the LANta bus service. The LANta (Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority) service runs between towns in the Lehigh Valley area. There are LANta stops around the Easton circle. These buses also go to Walmart and other stops. Although the buses come more frequently, they are not as well-kept as the LCAT ones. Buses can get loud and crowded very easily, especially during peak hours. Also, only particular LANta lines stop on College Hill, and even then, it's a bit of a walk to get to campus from the bus stop. There are bus lines that run between Easton and other major cities. Both Greyhound and Trans-Bridge have regular buses to and from Philadelphia, Newark, and NYC. Prices range from $40 to $60 round trip.

Never Really Need It

You really never need to use transportation unless you want to go to a Walmart or somewhere else off campus. Then you would have to take a bus, which I have heard is relatively easy
