There were always stuff going around on campus. I could go to sporting events, plays, study sessions in the library. The campus made me feel more involved.

I did very well at LRSC. It helped me get used to what a university will be like. It slowly adjusted me from high school to going into a harder level of learning at a university level.

This college had good resources! I was always able to find information out from the website. It was very user friendly.

The environment was excellent. I felt very welcomed in the admission's office or a professor's office. Professor's did a good job to make sure I understood what was going on in the classroom and helped me with homework assignments. I felt the instructors bent over backwards to help me.

The teachers are educated and teach professionally, smaller the class the more person the student can get to know them and get help. Each teacher is different in their ways of teaching, some helpful, some make it harder to learn, but as long as the person asks for help things will go fine.

Great School for Transition from High School to College – I was accustomed to a very rigorous academic load in high school. I have been able to handle the homework load fairly easily. The class sizes are small. The professors are available for help pretty much when you need them. The class registration process is simple and quick. Since its a small school there are no lines or stressors associated with registration, its all done on a computer. The reason I give it a B- is because the classes tend to decrease as the semester goes along. Students either drop out or dont attend. There are study groups for the math and sciences. Tutoring available as well.

Computer Access Great – We have access to the computer lab on campus 24 hours a day. Our grades and some assignments are handed in by way of computer. We have wireless access all throughout campus, and speed is never an issue. We do have access to printers on campus but I did bring my own for ease. We have campus emergency alerts throughout campus through email and texting.

ASL Interpreting – I am majoring in American Sign Language and Interpreting. We are fortunate to have the North Dakota School for the Deaf blocks from our school. We have many interactions and classes at NDSD. The workload is very manageable as long as you keep up with you assignments. In 2012 LRSC will be adding a 4 year degree option in my major. So I will live on campus take classes through LRSC and Minot State University go fulfill the requirements of a 4 year degree.

LRSC does have a career center but it is very limited and small in nature. Department heads are a great resource for finding post grad jobs and internships. Alumni are very strong at LRSC with a very involved foundation at the school.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition is a great bang for your buck. I have received a small scholarship every semester I have attended. While I did not qualify for grants or work study they are available and have friends who have received both. The foundation is very strong and involved at LRSC.

Community College Costs With University Options – LRSC is unique in that it is a community college but does offer dorm living. Within the dorm living, married couples and single parents having living options. The school also offers some 4 year degree options with the ability to stay right on LRSC's campus while you complete the degree, saving a student tons of money.

Small College With Limited Activities – One does have to realize that LRSC is a small college in a small town. Many students do leave campus on the weekends which I really would love to see change. For those students like myself who live far away and can not go home very often, the social life is challenging. We have a student center, recreation area, new library on campus. Another positive aspect of our campus is that the dorms and classes are connected so in the winter you do not have to go outside to get to your class in the general academic building. There are some out buildings for speciality majors.

Flexible and Easy – LRSC makes the whole process easy. It is a small school so the staff know who you are. Applying and transfering credits was easy. Registering for classes is online. I have not had a problem getting the class I need to graduate. I received transfer credit for an AP class and a college class taken in high school.

Above Average! The student body at my school is made up of a huge variety of students. There are people from all over the world, as the school encourages acceptance, understanding, and diversity. Students range from the tradtional "right out of high school," to single parents, to 60-70 year olds just looking to expand there knowledge. We have a variety of clubs, and student activities. I think our student body is extremely accepting of others no matter race, ethnicity, sexuality, or lifestyles!

Multi-Culturaly Friendly – My school is accepting of every walk of life! There are single parents, students from other countries, students from every background, older, younger, gay, straight, black and white, we have it all! That is one of the greatest things about my school, no matter who you are, or where you come from, you are accepted at LRSC, and even the town its located in is amazing! I am a non traditional student, and always feel right at home when i step into the classrooms! The teachers are amazing, and they really want to see you succeed at your goals, and if you happen to fall, they are willing to give you hand back up! Our TRIO program is absolutely amazing as well, even if your not a member, the trio people are willing to help out in any way possible. This school makes it almost impossible to not succeed! Its just a great place, not just to start, but to return to, or gain a degree right from them! I just cant say enough good things about this school, would recommend LRSC to anybody looking for a great school!

Professors Make Class More Interesting. I wish professors would make classes more interesting by doing someting new every week, instead of doing the same thing over and over every week. Professors should make it more interesting so the stuents will want to come to class.

We have students who are very dedicated to their studies and we have students who are still trying to figure out if college is for them. Some students skip a lot of their classes and others are dedicated to attending everyday. We have older students, single parents, and students from other countries that are all part of the student body at LRSC.
