Tuition & Financial Aid:
The tuition at Lamar State College Port Arthur is very reasonable. My financial aid process went really smooth, since I started and finish my process really early; way before classes started. I even became friends with the financial aid director, who helped me a lot with my financial aid to process faster.

The main reason why I chose this school is because it's close to home, but also because the tuition fees are much less than other colleges in my location. The class schedules are also very flexible and convenient for me. I also was credited 3 classes because I was in a program in high school so that actually helped out a lot.

We have plenty computers in the labs or in the library. Their network speed is also fast so that isn't an issue.

After I graduate, I should not have any trouble finding a job in my field. So naturally I am employed with a health company, they are an asset to me post graduation. However, I hope Im not disappointed. It's as if the school's sole focus is to find new fresh and happy faces for their prospective pamplhlets.

It's is a good school to start with as a freshman.

It is ok. The classes are pretty easy and helpful.

Basically, my school constits of all kinds of mix minorities. Hard working people who stride to complete their educaton level. Working class people, who try to achieve an education to help others from that education.

My school consists of working class people with full time jobs or familes

I love online classes because it was more convenient and the instructors are great.

The student body at my college is an extremely diverse group. Age, race, everything you can think of is there. What I've noticed while attending this school is that everyone is extremely open and helpful.

The professors are pretty good but some of the classes such as my economics class isn't really easy to learn from. Every assignment and quiz is online and it just feels like I'm not learning much. I'm just inputing numbers and answers.
The english classes are very well rounding, especially because the teachers show us exactly what we're doing wrong.
Over all the teachers are okay but its pretty hectic dealing with talking to the advisor.

Enjoy all the speaker that the school has every year.

Over all the school and campus is good. Every building is a walking distance.

At first I didn't consider myself as a good student, but this institution helped me organize my thoughts and overcome everything I thought I wasn't good at.

Lamar knows how to train students to become leaders in the future. One time I was having trouble with my classes, I didn't know which ones to pick and some of the students with more experience told me about every preferable teacher in the campus and how good they were. This way I found out which was the best way to go.

The campus is good there is always something to do. For example, you can play pool, join a club, sit at the student center, or go to the gym and workout. Is not a big campus but I surely don't regret coming here.

Well I haven't graduated from this institution yet, but from I've heard almost every school in Texas works with the same system of credits. Hopefully my next school accepts every credit I have taken at Lamar State College.

The computer network is good, there is always wifi you can use while doing a research or some type of work that requires internet access. Printing is not very good, you have to go all the way to the library to print after you have paid 10 cents per copy.

The main reason I chose the school was its location is near. the schedules are on-time, so convenience is great.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The worths of the state college are great because the teachers are intentive, and within the state costs are way less then the out-of-state costs. The expenses are reasonable.

The workload is good, but I will improve my success.

My online class was very easy and I liked how I could do it on my own time. However, I have a terrible computer and it was always a headache to deal with it and make sure I could finish my tests and turn things in on time before my computer decided to stop working. I would much rather keep everything in actual classrooms.
College Junior 2013-01-06T01:57:45Z
I do not use any of the resources on campus like the athletic center, so I don't understand why I have to spend extra money for it. Otherwise, I like how everything is so close together and easy to walk to.
College Junior 2013-01-06T01:55:24Z
The flexibility of my classes are horrible! I had to quit my part time job because there was no way I could work with the class schedule I have, plus have enough time to study and do homework, so now my household has even less money. Also, with my schedule I have absolutely no time to eat lunch until late afternoon. That can't be good for my grades.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I do not agree with the school's financial aid situation. It seems like the only people getting help are the single parents and the people that are on drugs that are too lazy to get up and go earn some of their own money. I feel like the people that deserve it the least are getting to go to school for free while hard working people like myself, that are struggling, living paycheck to paycheck, are getting very little to no help. I want to go far in life, but because I'm not a single mother and made no bad decisions in life, I may not have enough money to pay for as much college as I'd like. None of the financial aid requirements are fair at all. I feel all the school's money is going where it doesn't need to go.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
