Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Getting to class during the winter season is taxing, and it may take extra time to bundle up to make sure every inch of your face is covered before going outside in the frigid weather. But the paths are constantly plowed, so getting lost in a blizzard on the way to class isn’t a concern. Students are never more grateful for a smaller campus than this time, when time walking outside between buildings is kept to a minimum. it is easy to complain about the extreme weather, but it doesn’t take much effort to appreciate the seasons. The fall is brilliant with the countless trees that scatter the campus. The first snow is an unofficial holiday on campus. no matter what time of day or how cold it is, students run outside and celebrate with a huge snow fight. Sledding down Union Hill is a favorite pastime. and then there is spring, the promise of brighter dispositions on campus. The professors might let class out a couple minutes early, and students take a break from studying to enjoy the sun on Main Hall green. Once summer hits, the weather is equally extreme, as it can get very humid. Moving in and out can be painful in this weather. no one dares complain about the warm weather, but fans are emphatically advised.

Good Old Wisconsin

Its typical Wisconsin weather. It can and will snow from november to may, and classes are nearly never cancled. Campus does shovel fairly fast. The bus are annoying too by the river, but that only happens once a year when they hatch.

Variety

You will definately see all 4 seasons while at Lawrence. If you're not used to snow and freezing temperatures, you will be after a few months.

However, fall and spring can be very beautiful.

Winter 6 Months Out of the Year

In northern Wisconsin, it gets pretty cold. It snows a lot and wind chills get below zero very often. But our classes are rarely cancelled because classes are very close to the dorms, and the grounds crew does an excellent job of keeping the sidewalks, steps, and roads clear of ice and snow.
