Most students at Lee University prefer to spend their weekends and free time in the nearby city of Chattanooga. Cleveland is a small town, and many places close down early. Only a 30-minute drive away and you can enjoy laser tag, bowling, movies, and a large variety of restaurants. Students also like to go to Knoxville, Nashville, and Atlanta for interesting shows, concerts, and to just get away for the weekend.
While Cleveland may be small, there are numerous restaurants and places to eat, if you don't feel like driving to Chattanooga. There is also a historic museum, the Old Woolen Mill where people like to take pictures, a bowling alley, a dirt race track, a mall, and several nice parks. Cleveland is a great place to be when it is warm because you can drive up to the Ocoee River to swim, white water raft, and go camping. However, during the cold months, many students hang out at local restaurants and coffee shops. Despite the size of Cleveland, most of the students are very friendly and create a fun and easygoing atmosphere that is enjoyable, despite the lack of attractions.
