College Prowler Take
There aren’t many complaints about Lehigh’s facilities, save for the gym. The gym is one of the most crowded facilities on campus, but the students feel it’s in serious need of an upgrade. Most of the cardiovascular machines are old, and the stationary machines are outdated, not to mention there aren’t nearly enough stations. The gym is almost unbearable to be at during peak times, which is usually right after class ends at 4 p.m., but those in search of exercise should be able to find solace in the pool, basketball, or volleyball courts. Aside from the gym, the Ulrich Student Center is pleasant inside, although it could benefit from more shops or diversions. It’s also something of a social hub because it’s almost impossible not to bump into someone when you go to get your mail. Some complain about the layout of the campus, what with it being on a giant hill and all, but many would argue that the peaks and valleys are what give the school its character.

Everything’s nice: a lot of the buildings have been remodeled recently, and the buildings on campus are gorgeous! Everything is pretty convenient. It’s a nice size campus . . . it takes probably a little under 10 minutes to walk from the bottom of campus to the top. From the bottom to the top is basically one big hill. You have to walk uphill to get to your dorm no matter what, but you get used to it after a while, and it can fight the Freshman 15, so there’s something positive about it! |

The student center could use a little work (there’s hardly anything there besides Subversions), but overall, the facilities are well-maintained and newly renovated. |

Well, if you are on the football or wrestling team, the athletic facilities are pretty good. Otherwise, be prepared to wait through long lines and overcrowded facilities. The UC is one of the most comfortable places on campus. Actually, all of the buildings are pretty comfortable. |

I thought most of the facilities on campus were really nice, except the gym, which I thought could have been cleaner and have more equipment. |

The facilities are nice, but they aren’t quite large enough for the expanding student body. |
FactsWhat To Do on Campus
Many students go to the gym between classes, take a jog around Lehigh’s steep and hilly campus, or relax on the lawn of the University Center.
Favorite Things To Do
The Zoellner Arts Center is host to entertainment of all kinds—plays, musical acts, ballet, and art exhibits. Although these activities tend to attract older residents of Bethlehem, students are slowly attending more events. There’s no real area where students come together and congregate—Lehigh students have a tendency to bond very tightly with the people they live with, so a lot of time is spent in the dorms. Campus Square has outdoor seating, and students are beginning to take to it.
Movie Theater on Campus
- The Kenner Theater in the Ulrich Student Center
Bar on Campus
- None, but there are several bars not far from campus
Coffeehouse on Campus
- Johnny’s Bagels in Campus Square, Lucy’s Café in the bottom of Linderman Library, and Baker’s Junction in the upper UC
