College Prowler Take

Lehigh, like most schools, is mixed with the gorgeous and the not-so-gorgeous. Unfortunately, as Lehigh gets harder to get into, the general attractiveness of the population has decreased. Most girls agree that the guys are hot, and although some of them have big egos, many of them are very friendly and outgoing. The guys are mostly pretty boys and preppies. Guys are a little more reluctant to call the girls hot, but the hesitation is borne out of many girls’ personalities. While there are a lot of chill, fun girls, the hotter ones tend to be very bitchy and either already have boyfriends, some kind of borderline personality disorder, or both. As a result, the guys drink very heavily and tend to hook up with less-attractive girls, much to the enjoyment of their friends, who will not hesitate to make fun of them relentlessly the next morning.

Due to the sheer volume of drinking that occurs at Lehigh, there is a huge number of random drunken hookups on any given night. Inhibitions disappear, standards vanish, and beer goggles ensue. Though some students will develop relationships, Lehigh is not much of a dating school. The lucky few who do find that special someone often become completely involved in their relationships, effectively shutting out their friends and shunning parties. Doing so is a huge social mistake, which is why most couples will do their best to balance their relationship, schoolwork, and social lives. Many students will probably have at least one real relationship during their four years here, but Lehigh has always had a random hookup, one-night stand social atmosphere.

Lehigh is a relatively homogenous school with most students coming from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Lehigh tends to preach diversity to prospective students on tours and info sessions, but as in any situation, many tend to stick with their own social groups.

There are lots of hot guys on campus, but a lot of them are obsessed with beer and getting laid. There are some good ones, you just have to be on the lookout for the nice boys! Some of the girls are really snobby. You know, the stereotypical sorority types. But again, you’ll find your niche.

I’d say there’s a decent amount of the student body that’s good-looking; unfortunately, there are also a lot of people that think they’re better looking than they really are.

The guys vary, but for the most part they’re preppy. Most of the girls are high-maintenance, at least the ones I hung around with.

Yes - It is available by appointment at the Health Center with Planned Parenthood.

Social Scene

Lehigh students are incredibly outgoing. As with most colleges, freshman year is the most social—everyone wants to be everyone else’s friend, and you’re still trying to decide who you actually get along with. However, most students will eventually find a group of friends who become a second family.

Hookups or Relationships?

Lehigh students often like to say that relationships are nonexistent, which isn’t entirely true. There is a fair amount of students who attempt to settle down. Many students will have at least one “significant other” throughout their four years. But, for the most part, Lehigh certainly lives up to the reputation of “let’s get drunk and hook up.” There are tons of hookups going on every weekend, and it’s much easier to hook up at a fraternity party on any given weekend than to try and find that one special someone.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

Fraternities are hands-down the number one place to interact with members of the opposite sex. Cases upon cases of beer, plus assorted drinking games and outgoing coeds—what more could you want?

Dress Code

The dress code reflects students’ wealth. Guys are generally clad in either Diesel jeans, Abercrombie, or Polo Ralph Lauren attire. Every single girl on campus owns multiple pairs of Seven jeans and wouldn’t be caught dead without their Louis Vuitton or Prada handbags. Both guys’ and girls’ styles are mostly either New York club attire or straight-up preppy.
