College Prowler Take
Expect typical Northeast weather in Bethlehem. As students return to school in late August, there should still be about a month of reasonably warm shorts weather. The beginning of October usually sees cooler weather, and by November, it starts getting much colder. Bethlehem winters are pretty unforgiving. Even if it’s not snowing, it’s very cold, and when it does snow, it snows a ton. The snow makes getting around very inconvenient, especially since Lehigh is situated on a hill. The cold weather also brings a noticeable mood change in most students. Even though everyone parties year-round, the winter can make Lehigh seem very bleak, but around March, sprits begin to lift again with the advent of warmer weather. Once the warm weather comes in, the last month or so of school is one non-stop party. Pledging is over, and fraternities have barbecues almost every day. You can’t drive around the Hill without seeing at least 10 guys per house hanging outside in their parking lot. It’s an incredibly relaxed atmosphere and is one of the greatest aspects of being at Lehigh. The warm weather lifts everyone’s moods, and the only downside is that the end of the year is near, and those great, care-free times can’t last forever.

Pretty much like the rest of the Northeast. The nicest times are the early fall, and then in spring people walk around campus in sweatshirts, jeans, flip-flops—very laid-back. |
