Gay Pride
Lesley is probably one of the most accepting schools there is when it comes to the LGBTQ community; people of all beliefs and orientations are accepted and welcomed. There are two main organizations on campus, Love And Equality for all People (LEAP) and Queer Lesley Education and Resources (QLEAR), that are very active on campus and host popular events.
Political Activity
Most of Lesley's students, though not all, tend to be liberal, which matches the very open-minded city Lesley is located in. While there are no political clubs on campus, political events and demonstrations happen all around the city, and some students choose to participate and support their beliefs.
Economic Status
Many students who attend Lesley benefit from both need-based and merit-based scholarships. There is no obvious distinction between students of different economic backgrounds.
Most Common Religions
While a decent number of Lesley students are agnostic, the Christian, Jewish, and Buddhist faiths are also well-represented. Lesley's Christian Fellowship sponsors Bible study and social events, and Hillel, Lesley's Jewish organization, hosts cultural, educational, and social events around campus.
Minority Clubs on Campus
There are many minority clubs and organizations on campus, including ALANA (African/Caribbean/Multiracial, Latino, Asian, Native American), the Multicultural Club (hosts events to highlight various cultures), and Paso Caliente (encourages diversity and culture within the Lesley community through salsa). All of the organizations are visible in the Lesley community, hosting various events open to people of all nationalities and races to help promote acceptance.
Did You Know?
One program run through Lesley is the Threshold Program. It is a campus-based, two-year program designed to give young adults with special needs the opportunity to experience college life in a supportive atmosphere.
