The facilities on campus are functional and well kept. The newer buildings are well designed and environmentally friendly, while the older ones are a bit dilapidated. The student center is criticized for its non-central location, but it serves its purpose. Templeton Student Center is home to the two dining halls, the mailroom, a computer lab, the Student Health Center, and the student club offices. Thayer Student Lounge was introduced on the lower level. Disappointingly, this small room featuring old couches, a wall-mounted TV, and a foosball table, has not been used for much other than the occasional nap. Pamplin Sports Center is a fine facility for the size of this campus, and the track is great, but usually empty.
Most academic buildings have brick exteriors and large classrooms, some featuring floor-to-ceiling windows to allow natural light in. Watzek Library, with ample study areas and a reading room with leather couches and a fireplace, is large for a small school. Estate Gardens features a reflecting pool, waterfalls, a view of Mount Hood, an outdoor swimming pool, a gatehouse with a grape arbor (with delicious grapes you can eat), tennis courts, a greenhouse, and a large rose garden.
