Liberty has had more construction going on on campus in the last ten years than ever before in it's history. In the next five years the school will have a new medical school building, library, new football stadium, new dorms, new athletic building, new music building, and new science building. It's very exciting to see how much is going on right now.

The school has city transit buses transporting students throughout the university throughout the daytime. It is always on time and is completely reliable.

Liberty University prohibits drinking and parties. You will never ever see any on campus parties because the penalty for drinking or association with drinking is generally anywhere from 30 hours community service to expulsion from the school. There are still some off campus parties that some risk taking students go to, but it is usually a very hush hush scene to get into and more hassle than anything else. I wouldn't go to Liberty if you want to party in college.

Guys & Girls:
Liberty University is a pretty conservative University that has no options for Co-ed living. But take it one step further in that members of the opposite sex are never allowed in each others dorms under risk of harsh discipline of the school. This makes guys and girls more likely to hang out on the campus more often so they can socialize together. Overall the girls at LU are extremely attractive, usually giving off that "southern belle" vibe. Playboy magazine a few years back rated the school in the top 5 for most attractive women on a campus. Because it is a religious school, most girls are more inclined to date instead of casually hooking up. The guys at LU are generally decently well dressed good looking southern type guys. Again, because it is a religious school, most guys aren't looking for a hookup but usually are up for going on a date.

Lynchburg is a college town without the regular attractions of a college town. You have to be creative when it comes to finding ways to have fun in the community. The town does have a decent music scene and you can usually catch a weekend show at the local record store or Pizza Restaurant/Bar. The best part about this area of Virginia is the Blue Ridge Mountains and other outdoor activities anyways so it's not that bad. There is also a lot of historical sites to go see close such as Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest Estate and the Appomattox House. Overall Lynchburg braces itself for the returning and incoming students just because of the massive size of Liberty University, however people usually look well upon Liberty because of the extreme involvement the university has in community service in Lynchburg.

Events are always taking place at Liberty. There are also a lot of recreation buildings on campus such as the ice rink, volleyball courts, gym area, rock climbing wall, etc.. And you can also find many off-campus activities such as Salsa dancing or flea-market events.

Guys & Girls:
There is a huge variety of students at Liberty as they come from everywhere, even abroad. Students are extremely friendly and lively. The majority of guys are the southern hunting type, but there are a lot of skater boys, as well as hip-hop dancers. Overall most guys here are old-fashion country gentlemen. The girls can vary from outgoing cheerleaders, to sporty adventure seekers, to sweet homeschooled girls. A lot of the girls are also very down-to-earth with a good head on their shoulders. And yes, it's the south so the accent is everywhere but not on everyone. All in all, I've never been surrounded by a better group of kids!

The off-campus Housing comes with much more freedom and independence. The options of living spaces vary but are all very beautiful. The only downside I see is commuting may cause you to show up late to classes or cause you to be unaware of important events happening on-campus.

Transportation at Liberty is really good and the time schedule is pretty consistent, plus is free for Liberty Students in and around the Lynchburg area, and you will probably be using it a lot especially around the cold seasons.

The staff were very helpful and polite. I was very pleased with the fact that they were kind and didn't mind waiting for me to get to whatever site needed to assist me in completing my forms.

Liberty has many nationalities there at the campus and there is no limit to the online people.

I have been very happy at Liberty University as a Psychology with a Christian Counseling specialization. Liberty is a welcoming and loving environment both online and in residential. It's nice to enjoy the peace in knowing that the professors are there to help and care and not put pressure and make your life awful. The professors get excited when their students succeed and they cheer them on not only in class but in other aspects of their lives as well. It's a wonderful situations, and I have been very thankful to be a part of the school.

I am a residential student, and as far as that goes, it is great.
College Sophomore 2013-07-08T20:00:36Z
the drug scene is not a very big one at LU, the school has strong policies against it and most students are willing to follow their rules

Found myself out of financial assistance and the school never informed me of the changes in the law. Financial Aide did my review every year but never told me I were getting close on funds. Found myself six classes away from graduation and out of financial aide. I have to find a way to come up with 18,000 to finish my degree at Liberty. Have to drop classes and only take one class that I could afford.

Everyone seems to get along. Besides they push the Christian side over the secular side.
College Senior 2013-07-08T19:41:46Z
Very difficult courses. They are not going to give you the degree until you have gone through some intense pressure that you have never experienced before. Work hard and you will get it, but if you do not work hard you will be left by the wayside.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
