The leadership here at LU are phenomenal! The facilities are top-notch! The people are kind, honest (most of them), and easy to befriend! There is not a better university.

It's a Christian University so you can't expect it to be a "do what you want" kind of mentality. You sign up for the place so you know what to expect. Truthfully, when everybody else is experiencing curfew and rules, it's as if there are none. You have the same boundaries as all the friends you're making do.

Health & Safety:
Honestly I never don't feel safe. Liberty University is a very safe place. I only put "theft" and "criminal activity near campus" because you'd think there would be plans of that sort of thing around the world's largest Christian University. In fact, this is extremely relevant. Just 2 mornings ago a male student was shot and killed trying to attack a campus officer with a sledgehammer. As far as I know, Liberty has never seen anything like that. I still feel incredibly safe for a student at a 12+ thousand campus, but obviously not everything is bulletproof.

Honestly, for a town of about 75,000, there are a lot of diverse places to eat. One just has to look or ask a bit; they're all kind of tucked in.

Plans are flexible, and there are a decent amount of options around campus, especially North, but meal points are quickly spent anywhere but the main buffet-style cafeterias.

Typical Virginia weather- random! Though since it is in a valley, it is a bit breezier and colder than surrounding cities. Can be 45F in the morning, and go up to 80F by 2PM. Typically, in the Spring or Fall, you can wear a short-sleeved shirt, but bring a sweater.

Great professors, okay on-campus life, terrible nightlife.

It can be good, it all depends on where you go downtown!

I love my program! It's the only truly hands-on film school in America. There's no need for an internship, because you start working professionally while you're in school.

The police force is awesome! They're very good about keeping the campus safe, and they're always willing to escort students home when asked. Other than that, they don't have much jurisdiction.

It's a great community, you'll make friends quickly with other like-minded people. If you can get a group together, though it's cheaper to get an apartment off campus.

There is no Greek life at all. Liberty does not have fraternities or sororities.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T02:54:16Z
I love the school and the people here and that we all believe in the same thing, as we are all Christians

The dining hall is set up buffet style and they have tons of food but it is just average. The dessert is always good and there are many other dining options. The meal points and swipes can get you a lot on campus. You just have to be sure to manage your money

Everything on campus revolves around the sports. Football, hockey, women's soccer, and basketball. The facilities are great for anyone

Health & Safety:
There's no campus crime, if you are walking home in the dark you can call the LUPD to escort you to where you are going. The campus is very safe

Tons of computers, horrible network connection, need your personal computer though

Most people are assigned a place to park and many have to keep there car in a lot called "the pit". It is very far from everything and students complain about it. There is a lot of nearby parking but you can only park in those spots on the weekend. Any other day you are only permitted to park in the lot you have been assigned to. Anyone parking in a spot where they do not belong will be towed. Believe me, they tow A LOT of people.

They have internships available and will help find you one. Many are required for your degree so you do not get paid.

I am happy with my program and want to continue until I earn my degree

Guys & Girls:
Everyone is religious, as it is a Christian school. However, there are many attractive people and the students at this school believe in a thing called "Ring by spring", where students want to be engaged by spring. Many like to pair up as soon as possible and are joined at the hip. Everywhere you go there is always a couple holding hands. Physical contact, aside from hand holding and 3 second hugs is prohibited.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T02:37:28Z
There is no drinking, no drugs, and no usage whatsoever. There are penalties for those who choose to engage in such activities. It is written in the rules of the school than no one, even someone who is 21 or older, is allowed to consume alcohol. If they are caught then they will receive reprimands and be fined.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T02:33:58Z
There are many apartment complexes near the school so if you want to live off campus there are tons of options. The school will even help you find and apartment and send buses to some of the complexes to bring you to campus. You have to be 21 to live off campus or live with someone who is 21 or older.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T02:31:52Z
The campus provides a great bus service but if you need to go anywhere outside the bus line it is easy to find rides as you'll know people with cars. When it comes to long-distance transportation all you need is a ride to the airport, passenger bus stop, or Amtrak. They are all easy to get to as long as you have someone to drop you off. There are also many people from all over so you'll find someone who is willing to give you a ride home if they're headed in your direction.
College Freshman 2013-11-17T02:28:09Z
There are many great housing options and you can choose to live in a traditional dorm or a more apartment style dorm. Everyone here is very nice and it is very easy to make friends. The best dorm option if you want to be close to everything are The Hill dorms. The worst option would be the Annex as they are not on campus and have to take a bus to get here. Liberty plans a lot of activities so you're never bored. The cost is close to pretty expensive but they hold classes to help you find scholarships and honestly care about the students.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
