As a recent grad student accepted into the college, I have found it very frustrating trying to apply and find scholarships available.

It's More Fun on Campus – Almost everything in Lynchburg closes after 9pm. Besides, there's so much fun stuff happening on campus that doesn't involve the party life, like hockey games and movie nights.

A Typical Town – Lynchburg is your typical town. It has bad parts and good parts. It's nothing too fancy, but people seem to enjoy the town and interacting with its inhabitants.

Don't Quite Know What to Expect...That's What Makes It Fun! Virginia weather is very unpredictible. It can change within an hour from sunny to pouring rain, to back to sunny.

Everyone Is Helpful – Liberty Professors really strive to make your learning experience a positive one. If you are struggling they make every effort to help you out. General Education classes tend to be large but when you get into your core classes for your major they are fairly small in size so you get personal attention and get to know your professors very well. This helps if your looking for letters of recommendation later! As far as difficulty goes I'd say Liberty is average though I hear the nursing program is really tough.

Process Is Smooth and Helpful – Liberty is great about giving scholarships! They literally can give you one for anything and I mean anything- the scholarship for knowing your pastor was an easy one for me!

Buses and Cars – Liberty is crawling with shuttle buses that can shuttle you from Main campus to the dorms and to North Campus as well. This is a great option for on campus residents. The off campus residents get assigned stickers for which campus they can park at and then can catch a shuttle to their destination. The buses come right after each other so there is no wait time. Very convenient!

Even the Best Variety Gets Old – There are several places to eat around campus. From smoothies and flatbread sandwiches to sushi and pizza hut. The Reber-Thomas dining hall has a variety of stations to eat at. Most of those stations remain the same (sandwiches, salad bar, asian bar, mexican bar, pizza) however, the main entree is always changing. They go all out for holidays too! If you ever get sick of the on campus dining though, the University is literally surrounded by restaurants! Any cuisine you can imagine and at least 6 different frozen yoghurt places!

Professors Are There to Help – As a transfer student, I have already figured out that the professors are there for a student if needed. They know their students on a personal level.

Variety of Restaurants – There are a variety of restaurants to choose around the Liberty University campus. Something for everyone. Also, if yo want to venture a little further, Lynchburg has a plethora of excellent restaurants to choose from.

Actually, I haven't set foot on the Liberty campus as a full-time student yet. I am transferring there from a community college. And I am so excited about it. It will be a great opportunity for me!!

Psych Is Great – I am in the psych program and the professors are very professional and helpful.

There Is a Good Side and a Bad Side – The school is very strict and this can be seen as a bad thing by most but it is really a good thing. It is a college and you are there to learn. It is a Christian college and you must uphold the spirit of integrity.

So far the academics have been well thought and the professors are very professional.

Nursing Rn to Bsn – it was very easy to get enrolled. i had great help from the people on the phone. the problem was that i needed more advising. they don't offer great advise when it comes to saving me a dollar. taking the remedial tests when i already have one college degree is ridiculous becaue they don't transfer remedial math classes. ask me when i learned that. many months after i had classes.

No Offers – the only ones i have seen are for residents of virginia. no large amount of advertising. a scholarship would have been nice.

the online claims that you can work and do your degree. i have been nailed to a computer for over a year due to the heavy workload with papers, projects, research papers, and discussion boards. need to be working on a 1500 word essay on atheism now. 1500 words--really?

Health & Safety:
Angels Watching Over You. Liberty has it's on police force on campus. They make sure to make rounds regularly especially during the night. They also have students sign up for a text alert system for emergencies that students need to be notified by. There can be a couple of times where if you do not lock your doors at night someone might come in a scare you as a prank. But that is all since the dorms have to be locked to get in the building then locked to get on the hall, and locked to get into your room.

No matter where you go on campus Liberty is always rebuilding there facilities. The student center has just newly been renovated. They just built indoor volleyball facilities, lacrosse facilities, and outdoor volleyball facilities. They are in the process of building a new baseball stadium. So they are continuously rebuilding.

Lynchburg = Drench Burg – Lynchburg, where Liberty is located, is plagued with rain a lot during the school year. The good thing is most dorms are fairly close to the academic buildings. The dorms that are not close are frequently visited by the bus system on campus. When it isn't raining the weather is amazing. Most students get up early to watch the sunrise and some even watch the sunset.

I think the graphic design program at Liberty University is great. I have only been in it a year so far, but the professors are very helpful and hands-on with all the projects and push you to do your best. They have new classrooms right now which are nice, and a new art building is in the process.

Dorms Too Far – East campus is too far in bad weather don't go there

I found filling out information for financial aid very easy, even for online students. The school financial aid department is very easy to talk to and answer questions. They even send out your award info to your email so you can review it before full accepting anything. Refunds are taken care of quickly as well and book vouchers can be used for books in the oncampus bookstore or for online students.

Great Place to Study – I am taking classes online and I really like the fact that if I have problems I can either call or email my teacher. The registration is easy. I am a criminal justice major and I like the fact that the Bible is discussed and applied to the classwork. The U.S. Constitution is a big part of the early classes in GOVT for this major. The classes are 8 week intensives that I take but the work load is not bad.
