Historical and Beautiful – There are many different things to do in Lynchburg, although it is far from big city life and has no nightlife (which is fine by me). There are beautiful views of the local mountains and plenty of hiking trailers. Thomas Jefferson's summer home, Poplar Forest is about 15 minutes away from town; and, we are also 45 minutes away from historic Appomattox.

Able to Get Needed Experience – I'm attending Liberty University and am a Psychology major. The Psych department has various opportunities for out-of-the-classroom experience including: joining the psych community, listening to dozens of speakers, joining the research program, internships and more. The professors are willing and able to help you, but you also have to be willing to help yourself!

We're near mountains so it can be quite cold and rainy

Guys & Girls:
Variety as usual. Generally attractive guys and gals, nice that there are more girls here than guys. Marriage is heavily emphasized here though so trying to be "just friends" can be awkward...

A mixed bad honestly. Not really much to rate here.

Liberty offers many options for housing and all have their ups and downs. On main campus dorms the rooms are very spacious and the dorm atmosphere is great having about 70 people on a hall, great way to meet lots of people. There are community bathrooms but they are cleaned daily and always kept in great condition. East Campus is more of an apartment style living with a common room and mini kitchen. Not exactly a dorm feel but it is good for upperclassman or people who prefer a quieter and more private atmosphere.

Top Notch – There are hundreds of computers in the computer labs that are open past midnight every night. Both PC and Mac computers are available in all of the computer labs. The labs tend to get crowded during certain times of the day but it is rare to not be able to find an open spot. The printers are all connected on one network so any student can print from any computer to any printer on campus; you can even set up your personal computer to be able to print from any and all of the campus printers.

Liberty has been in the transition of having a massive influx of commuting students, which has been...excruciating to say the least. There just aren't enough parking spots for students and buses can be very unreliable. I know that they used to have a better bus system but somehow it changed and it's just a headache right now. Some day Liberty will work out all their transportation issues, but it's not going to be this year...or next year...

When applying to Liberty, students have to sign a code of conduct that is pretty heavily enforced. I know that there are students that go party and that there are students that get away with those sort of things, but that's not really my thing. I think that Liberty is a little too strict, especially when it comes to guy and girl relationships. There really just isn't a place to hang out or go to enjoy large groups of mixed company.

This is a christian college. It should be strict!

Liberty University offers an incredible body of professors who genuinely care for not only the academic success of their students, but also care for them on a personal level. It provides the perfect environment to encourage and keep students going.

They Are Great! The financial aid office has been great to work with. I'm still pretty new to the process, but so far, every person I've worked with has been wonderful, helpful, and great at following through!

Career Goals – Love the school and the program. I would definitely do it all over again at the very same school. I plan on becoming a Christian film maker after completing school and then graduating from film school. I have no concerns about finding work after the completion of school.

The weather affects my academics in no way. I do online classes from home.

School Policy – The only school policy that I am effected by is the Honesty Policy that prohibits cheating.

Student Seeking Internship – I haven't yet had an internship while at LU, but I plan to have one my senior year. I'm a Psychology: Human Services major and I'm very excited to have an internship, but I admit that I'm a bit nervous about finding one that suits what I want to do once I graduate. However, with all the internship opportunities at LU, I'm fairly sure I'll be able to find one -- and love it.

Be Early, Be Loud, Wear Red – LU has tons of school spirit. For almost every home game, students are decked out in red attire and body paint, enthusiastically cheering on the Flames, which students are convinced helps the team to win. LU athletics are highly ranked in every one of its divisions and within the Big South conference. Also, Liberty's facilities are incredible, yet Chancellor Falwell is always seeking ways to improve them and keep them at top quality facilities not only for student-athletes, but for intramural athletes and regular students as well.

The Rot Gets Old – Food around campus is alright, not all that good, but not terrible either. It's pretty useless to get more than 10 swipes a week for the Rot, unless someone wanted to use those to get a flatbread at the Bistro or a sandwich at Sub Connection, which are both really delicious places. The main dining hall, the Reber-Thomas (or the Rot), has good options for food a lot of the time, but sometimes it can be quite tasty. Usually though, especially after freshman year, the Rot gets old so one would want money to spend at other places on campus. The main downside to campus food is that everything is so expensive and usually the lines are insane.

Online Classes – Many of my classes are online, so the weather does not effect me. However the snow is an issue in the winter, but classes in this area are hardly ever cancelled at this university or other colleges in the area. I have lived here for years, so I am used to it.

Comfortable and Convenient. Life on campus feels and is very safe. Fellow students are usually all incredibly polite and considerate. The campus grounds are beautiful and not difficult to navigate. For farther areas there is campus transportation, but I myself enjoy walking the campus whenever I have the chance.
College Sophomore 2012-04-10T16:32:45Z
Many Appealing Options – I myself have not yet had the chance to dine off campus, but I wouldn't hesitate to do so. There are plenty of places around the campus that seem to serve good food at equally good prices.
College Sophomore 2012-04-10T16:31:09Z
Varied and Well-Prepared – The Dining hall serves a vast array of different food based on style or culture. I've had almost all different types but not all the plates themselves, and I was very satisfied with each of my meals.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
