I do not have knowledge of off-campus housing. This is my first year at Liberty and I live on-campus as do my friends here.

Health & Safety:
Verty Safe! I consider this a very safe college environment. I have not had any personal experiences involving a crime and have no knowledge of any crimes within my dorm, hall, or even campus-wide. The presence of the Campus Police is very evident. The shuttles run until late at night for added safety, but I have also walked across campus at night and felt very safe.

Application Process Made Easy – The financial aid department at Liberty University is very helpful. I have received several phone calls from them offering to help with the application process or anything else I might need. I am still working on filling out the paperwork and applying for scholarships, but so far things are going smoothly. The only thing I was disappointed with is they were not helpful with advising me what scholarships to apply for. I have had to do that research on my own.

Liberty is a great school. The people are generally nice and helpful (students and faculty). Great school for outdoors people. Liberty owns their own mountain with miles of trails. There is a year round artificial ski slope (free to students). Though liberty does have many top performing academic institutions (debate, quiz bowl, school of nursing), they also have many students who don't take academics seriously due to the high acceptance rate.

Drugs and Alcohol – The drug/alcohol scene is next to non-existent. Peer pressure will push you away from substance abuse. Students are technically not supposed to consume alcohol.

Off campus housing is readily available, but taking this option will probably leave you feelling disconnected. The way Liberty University is positioned, an on campus student really doesn't need to leave campus. There is a walmart, dollar theater, ice cream/ coffee shops etc. all right across the street. If you are looking for an apartment, try living on campus east for a semester first.

Helms School of Government – The government school at Liberty University is great. I feel like most of my upper level classes are growing my understanding of the area of study rather than simply checking off a requirement for graduation. Professors are diverse in their approach, the programs are always growing, and there are internship opportunities. A program that has been promoted around campus is semester in DC. This is where one of your semesters can be taken while you are an intern in DC. P.S. the Helms School just got a sweet new location on campus.

If your looking for parties sure they are here but why choose a Christian school with a billion guidelines. I chose this school because I loved partying too much. I needed a campus with limited distractions, but i found that the distractions are the girls. The girls are nothing but teasers, and put a Christian front but in reality behind the scenes just like the rest of the world. Don't get me wrong not all LU women are like that but there is a large portion that are, so no offense to the women that are actual practicing what your preaching. This school is not big on night life they kind of stay on you as far as curfew which is stupid. I'm 21 and I don't have someone looking over my shoulder at home so why should it happen here.

Home Away from Home – I love my school! The campus is beautiful, the people are full of integrity. The food is great, especially the gluten free and Chinese selections. One of my favorite parts about the school is the mandatory Convocation every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. It's like church three days a week.

Student Body Is a Good Mixture – There is a predominantly white and black campus, not too many students of Spanish descent. We do however have many international students!!! Since Liberty is a Christian based university approximately 85% of the students claim Christianity as their religion. There are Jewish, atheists, and other religions present on the campus as well. The people are found to be extremely accepting compared to other universities.

Health & Safety:
Safety First! The campus is safe at all hours. We have early curfews and well lit areas to walk to and from class at night and up to the dorms. I've never heard of any violent crimes or really any crimes in general happen on Liberty's campus. Any time you lock yourself out or feel unsafe a call to the campus police will clear everything up in a quick and timely fashion.

Fairly Easy Process, Scholarship Focus Could Always Be Stronger. Helpful and friendly FA staff. Overall, a fairly easy process, scholarship focus could always be stronger.

Liberty University is a christian college. I am sure there are different religions than Christian, and I am sure that even though it is a Christian college, that there are only athletes there to play sports. All around the atmosphere is pretty accepting. PDA is not allowed.

Lynchburg is a pretty big University town with a lot to offer. There is a lot of nice places to go eat,and also a super walmart which is very helpful and comes in handy. There is "snow flex" which is an outdoor skiing/snowboarding complex open all year round, it is fun for everyone. Lynchburg also has a bunch of hills which is great for hiking and enjoying nature.

Liberty gets a lot of rain. Although it is mostly warm in Virginia, if you hate rain you will hate Lynchburg.

Because Liberty is a Christian University, rules are extremely strict. There is a curfew, attendance policy, and an absolutely no-drinking-or-drugs policy. My advice to anyone who wants to party and get a lot out of their "college life" is to go to a different university. To anyone who hopes to grow in their relationship with Christ without the distractions of a normal campus,Liberty is the place for you.

I can not tell you any thing about the Greek life because I am not on campus full time. I am an online student.

Liberty University truly is one of the most unique and greatest universities in the year. We are a huge school, but the university really does make it seem like we're all one big family. We do have some rules, but they are not hard to follow because everyone has to obey them. I am truly blessed to go here and would not want to be anywhere else.

There are many different off-campus options available in Lynchburg. Most students tend to go with an apartment and I have found that most of the apartments are fairly priced and are close to campus. If you do not have a car, Liberty also offers an Apartment bus system that will take you to campus and drop you back off at your apartment.

I came to Liberty University because they have a wonderful nursing program and gave me the most money to attend their school. The campus is great and is constantly growing and changing. My professors have also been awesome and many of them still know me by name. The faculty and staff truly care about you here and will do their best to give you the best college experience possible!

The weather at Liberty University is usually gorgeous. When it rains, I would definitely recommend rain boots if your dorm is far from your classes. Otherwise, the weather usually is not much of a problem and students love being outside.

Lots of Computer Labs – There are 2 computer labs in DeMoss located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building. They both have numerous computers including both Macs and PCs. There are also computers on East Campus in the Clubhouse. It is easy to print from any of those computers. Students can also set up their computers to wirelessly print to any of the labs from their laptops.

Dorms at Liberty University largely vary in quality depending on location. Main campus dorms include the Circle, Quads, and the Hill. The Circle has a lot of old dorms and is hall style. The quads are very popular. There are 10 girls to a quad, 2 bathrooms and a small kitchen. The Hill is also hall style, just like the Circle, except the location of the HIll is more central to campus. Those living on the Hill are typically more outgoing. The other side of Campus is East Campus. Dorms include buildings that are "apartment style." Each quad has 2, 2-person rooms and 1, 3-person room. Each room includes their own bathroom. The quad also has a full kitchen, living room, heat/air control, and laundry machines. Although living on East Campus is more expensive, many favor it because of the extra space and quality of the dorms. The atmosphere is a lot quieter, however, the hall feel is still maintained.

Lots of Dining Options Off-Campus – Wards Road is located directly off campus. There is a road leading off campus that leads to Wards, as well as a tunnel that goes under the highway that students can walk under to get to vendors. Some college student favorites include Moe's and Panera. A lot of students enjoy eating off-campus because they can use their "Flames cash," that is part of some meal plans, to pay for their meal and tip if necessary. Restaurants like Buffalo Wild Wings, Sundae Grill, Dominos, Smoothie King, Jersey Mikes, Sheetz, Wendys, Little Caesers, Texas Roadhouse, Sweet Frog, Ledo's Pizza, TGI Fridays, Macado's, Sonic, Big Lick, Subway, Yogurt Yeti, and Bloop. There are many other vendors such as Chick-fil-a, Vinny's, La Carreta, Cracker Barrel, McDonalds, Pablo Viejo, CiCi's Pizza, IHop and more. The average cost per average meal at most of these places ranges from $5-10. Some places offer special promotions which make them even more affordable.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
