Athletic Students Have the Upperhand – Athletic students can get away with anything they want and will have an excuse to get out of anything. Football is a lower league but the games are very energetic.

I grew up in Lynchburg and as for college students, there isn't much to do. You will not be entertained but the city is very safe. There isn't much shopping and little to no cultural activities.

Degree Factory – I started college at Liberty because I had a scholarship. I do not plan to attend next year. The college itself has a wonderful campus, but the amount of freedom to express yourself is lacking. The classes only require a pulse to pass because they want to produce as many Liberty graduates as possible. I do not suggest attending this school if you want a legitimate education.

The workload at times can be really hard but that is expected at an university. Don't think that just because you are doing online classes that you get off the hook because you don't. You have just as much work to do as if you are in a class room setting. The curriculum is laid out pretty well the same format in every class which for me as been very easy and helpful. The online classes has been a major help for me and my life style than having to take the time to go in the evening to an university every evening.

Christian School Rules – I love Liberty's rules, it one of the reasons I went there. However, most of the time, RA's look the other way, and the rules are somewhat of a joke. It's a Christian university, so the big rules still apply, but dress-code is the big joke on campus.

Health & Safety:
Liberty is a very safe campus, do not get me wrong. However, their campus police department is useless. Also, they just allowed concealed carry on campus...way to make the campus feel even less safe. Let an incompetent police department who can barely handle parking deal with concealed weapons on campus now? It just does not make sense.

Close Apartments – Nice apartments within walking distance which is good because it is extremely difficult to drive around Lynchburg, VA.

There are buses running at all times that are free for students although sometimes waiting for a bus to show up at the stops can take a long time. On the other hand the buses during class hours are usually convenient and don't take too long. Long-distance transportation as well as off-campus transportation is unavaiable. And, walking is usually the best option for getting anywhere quickly.

Not Really an Issue – Since Liberty is a Christian University a lot of students have good values and aren't interested in drugs or alcohol. The small amount of students that chose to do so are dealt with by RA's or other administration and it is not an issue for students that are not interested in getting involved.

Ok but Repetitive – Overall there is a lot of dining options at Liberty University. Although the actual dining hall got a little old after my first semester on campus, I'll still go there every now and then because there are a lot of options. Also other places on campus such as the diner and bistro and sub connection are also nice to have because they take swipes as well as the dining hall.

Nice but Limited – Lynchburg is a reasonable size for a city, but is laid out unusually. However for the college student there is easy access to anything one might need. In most locations the students are welcomed. Over all very good.

Super Strict – I love how strict Liberty is; i wish they were a little more strict to be honest.

Drug Scene – Although LU tries to catch everyone who does or has drugs, they don't. They need to do a better job.

There is no tolerance for failure. Staff are available for every student for every issue. It is a big support group with options for success.

My school gives a lot of money to students, but it still is a private school and expensive and I think they should lower the tuition by at least 5,000 to 7,000 dollars a year.

Usually the on campus buses run until around 12 in the morning. there are also a bus that will take students to Wal-mart and other places to shop.

I have never seen alcohol on campus or any type of drug because they are not allowed. I have heard of one or two cases where there was some drinking going on, but I did not personally see it.

Liberty is known for it's evangelical stance and curriculum, but out of 10,000-15,000 students, many of them dont fit the LU disciple mold. The drug and alcohol scene around LU isn't the most prevalent as compared with other major universities. But the LU counter-culture is a tight knit group and once part of that group the parties and availability of these things grows exponentially.

Liberty University is an excessively religious masquerade that spreads throughout the entire city of Lynchburg. There are few bars and/or clubs because thats against the "Liberty Way". The legalism is taken to an extreme and all the while they pride themselves on non-judgementalism and spirituality, claiming to be non-religious. It will make one sick after a few years. When one finally decides that this is not the place for them, it is too late. Credits will transfer to very few schools so most people are faced with the decision to tough it out a few more years or drop out.

There is not enough parking yet.. and you are more than likely to get towed at least once while living on campus.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
