Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

The majority of students states that Linfield College is excellent if you're looking for smaller classes, individual attention, and a focus on academics with the opportunity to enjoy sports and extracurricular activities. Linfield has excellent professors who really care about students; the only drawback is that the school is located in a small rural town, where it can sometimes seem boring. However, if students are willing to look hard enough, there is always something to do, no matter what students' interests are. Generally, everything is accessible, and there are plenty of resources. It's relatively easy to find your niche.

Linfield is an excellent college for those who are looking for a small school with a focus on academics, access to professors, and a strong emphasis on the study abroad program. The College is perfect for students who want a balance between academics and developing leadership skills through civic events in the community, internships, as well as having the time to participate in extracurricular activities. The College's mantra is that "Linfield is a place of connecting learning, life, and community." Hands-on learning through projects and developing real world skills from internship programs and international study (as well as extracurricular activities) are valuable experiences that students prize at Linfield.

Overcast With Mild Temperatures

Being a college located in Oregon I was prepared for rain and gloomy days. On the contrary, the weather was not bad at all. In fact, the weather made it easier to stay inside and study. There were nice days as well which enabled us to be active outside, but during finals the bad weather was appreciated.

Small Colleges Have Big Advantages

My freshman year at Linfield College was great. I wasn't overwhelmed by the amount of students on campus nor in my classes. The peer pressure was minimal. I am looking forward to my sophomore year.

Academically Easy

The requirements to attend a private college known for its academic standards were easier then I had anticipated. While there was an application process, it didn't seem to matter that I was pursuing a nursing degree while lacking a strong biology and chemistry background. My biggest tip for college admission is to make sure you are committed to the field of study. It's expensive to obtain a college degree and getting harder to secure financing. I chose a field that I'm academically challenged in which means attending college longer.
