I do not know of any Art Department Internships. I do wish there were some internships, as I would be interested.

There is quite a few little restaurants all around Linfield that serve really good food at a reasonable price. Some places even give you a small student discount.

The big sport at Linfield is football. We have a nationally ranked football team and our whole community comes out for the games. Our softball and baseball teams get a lot of support as well. I believe that we have a strong fan base here. Our IM sports are really popular as well and people get really into the games.

Guys & Girls:
We have a variety of students at Linfield. Being a small college we have a lot of athletes on campus. But we have a very supportive community on and off campus.

Transportation is decent. Linfield has shuttles and taxi services to take you where you need to go. Many popular hangouts for Linfield students are within walking distance but transportation is there if you need it.

There is no need for a car in this small campus and small town. However, if you have a car, there is a plenty of parking space, I think. I rarely see parkings full on a typical days. If you can not park nearby your class building, you can park further away and walk to the class.

My major is biological sciences and I liked it here. There are many science classes I had to take but if you study consistently, it is not very hard. I recommend not taking more than half of you classes in science; it can get pretty busy. Also, my major provides job opportunities such as teaching assistant and paid research opportunities. Best part is, you can establish a mentor-student relationship with a professor. He or she will be there to guide you through decisions in your major.

The campus is very small so there is no need for a transportation within campus. Moreover, the town is pretty small too. However, there is a bus line which passes through campus so you can ride anywhere with only about 2 dollars. There is a taxi service but it is a bit expensive. Sometimes, campus security can give you a ride if it's too late.

Linfield is like a high school rather than a university where there are hundreds of students in a single classroom. Linfield has small class size so you can develop a great relationship with a professor. The professors here are very helpful and available. We have a good biochemistry program. It is usually recommended to take half science and the other half non-science classes totalling 18 credits. If so, the courseload is not very hard to manage. You can also do many hours of workstudy along with the courses and still get about 3.7 term GPA.

Large variety of food in a close radius around campus from Thai to Chinese, burgers and fast food restaurants.

Linfield has a good internship program, especially during summer and if you are a science student. Whether you want an internship or not depends on your interest. If money is the goal, it is usually the same as other schools. You put some work, help professors, and present your work after summer. But, you your ultimate destination is not a research field, I would recommend re-considering. You do not want to waste your summer just for the sake of cash. For example, if you are going into medical school, research is not the most important factor. You may want to gain more clinical experience. Linfield also has many Teaching assistants. If you were a good student in science labs, you will probably be asked to assist in teaching.

I think it is important for admissions if you had to overcome some sort of adversity. The most challenging part of the application, I think, is to deliver your message properly in your personal essay. Show the admissions what makes you a good candidate. Avoid cliches.

Linfield has a strong connection with international school in different countries. Therefore, many students come to Linfield as exchange students every semester. I myself am an international student and feel that this college is very welcoming of us. I am also sure I can speak for others..

Health & Safety:
Lots of people complain about CPS but they are good at enforcing policy and they keep the students safe. The food services are very clean and provide a variety of option while catering to the needs of students with dietary restrictions.

Guys & Girls:
Most people complain about the food, the activities, and the general attractiveness of the people. The food is good, there are lots of activities that don't include alcohol, and the people tend to be more attractive than most college students. There is a very diverse group of people on campus but most of them only seem to really want to party.

In the three semesters that I've spent at Linfield, I've been incredibly happy. I'm a psychology major, and completing said major involves taking a variety of classes and getting a well-rounded education in the field. Many of the professors do their own research and they also care about their students succeeding in their classes.

The computers are fairly accessible and the network is moderately fast and reliable. The computers in the library are open to everyone, and if you're taking classes in certain halls, the computers there are available to you 24 hours a day! There are printers available, and it costs some to print but you can print several pages' worth for just a dollar. However, you definitely want to bring your own computer and maybe your own printer as well to college, seeing as the computers and printers are open to the entire college and the computer labs can get pretty crowded.

I had a fantastic internship. At Linfield, the Career Center will help you once you enter the internship (you get credit that way), but they won't find it for you. If you don't know where to find an internship, they can help guide you through the process. Every internship is different. Mine was working in a bilingual preschool. I was paid per hour, and worked full-time for a month. The internship ended up turning into a job for me, so it was a great experience overall. There are also internships within each major, but that is something that you should discuss with your advisor, and plan to do your second, third, or fourth year. Usually in-department internships are more specific on the requirements, whereas those through the Career Center are open for "career exploration."

I like to party at the Delta house the most, they definitely know how to have a good time and I see those Deltas all over campus and involved in the Linfield community. Plus I met my girlfriend there.

Greek life is where a lot of the fun happens around campus. The houses are all pretty close to one another so no matter what, you will find a good time within a short distance. Some of the houses are better than others but I would have to say that the more chill the house, the better the time everyone has. Not to say they don't have really good parties, they just know how to throw them the best. I dated a few Greeks and I would highly suggest checking out Delta, the guys there are all welcoming and just want everyone to enjoy themselves, no matter who you are.

El Primo is my favorite and it is so close!! Other good places are Thai Country, 3rd Street Pizza, or when you're wasted go to Muchas Gracias.

It's easy to use the computers, and there are always a few free ones. Printing costs add up after a while so lots of people buy their own printers.

They charge you lots if you don't have a permit, and sometimes its hard to find a place to park. I knew one person who had to park their car at Albertson's!

Cam-po can be really strict if you're openly drinking, but if you keep it quiet you'll be fine.

As a Facilities work-study employee, I am biased to think that Facilities does their job pretty well. Most workers are friendly and will help you with what you need. Some dorms have better facilities than others, but if there is ever a problem, the facilities workers do a good job addressing it.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
