Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Students have mixed feelings concerning the food on campus. Some remark that the food is pretty awesome and even fancy (with weekend brunch), while others describe the food as greasy, spicy, and even gross. The food descriptions depend on where and when students get their food. Dillin Hall is normally not too bad at lunch, with weekend brunch being the favorite and best meal of the week, featuring make-your-own waffles and omelets at the buffet stations. The Catty Shack is a pretty good place to get food or snacks, and can be a nice break from the dining hall.

The College tries to emphasize "Balanced Way Options," a nutritious approach to dining. There are dishes that range from Asian noodle cuisine to Italian strombolis. Salad lovers enjoy endless choices and combinations at the salad bar. Other on-campus food includes fresh smoothies, deli sandwiches, and Starbucks coffee at the Catty Shack, while O'Riley's features the Jazzman's coffee experience, as well as gourmet baked goods, salads, and various homemade sandwiches. Also, the Observatory, an on-campus convenience store, carries popular snacks, beverages, meals, Ben & Jerry's ice cream, canned goods, and salads and sandwiches that are prepared fresh daily. Although there are varieties of foods to choose from, like most campuses, anyone can get tired of on-campus food, so students should head out occasionally to dine with friends on the weekends and shake things up a bit.

Tasty, but Expensive

The food on campus is pretty good, but like most college campuses, it's over priced and there aren't very many healthy options. The best value is when you can do a flex dollars only plan. The scheduled meals are insanely over priced.

Mediocre at Best

The dining hall has decent food but needs a lot more variety. Meat and potatoes isn't going to cut it every night, and healthier options need to be more prominent! Fried, greasy, and oily food is served a lot. Some fresh, cold fruit like sliced apples, pineapples, peaches, and grapes would be a great addition.
