The process of financial aid is a headache, due to Tomball being the core campus of all the Lone Star community colleges. It is difficult to find an adviser at the other campuses because the Tomball campus is always changing the financial advisers due to the shortage of advisers between the campuses. You will see them twice a day in a week, but in your next appointment, there is no guarantee that you will see the same adviser that you met with previously.

It takes months to process a financial aid request, so mostly, students have to pay for the tuition fee and books by themselves, and then can later file a refund. Sometimes, students are chosen for verifications, which are not very long, but they can take longer than expected, depending on the number of applications being picked for verification.
