Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Louisiana College is known for its tough academic standards, and students are challenged from their first semester by the thorough core curriculum. The school’s strongest programs are biology, nursing, biblical studies, and education. LC’s liberal arts program requires students to take courses in composition, literature, math, science, social studies, religion, philosophy, foreign languages, and physical education. But don’t freak out: LC’s professors form personal relationships with students and are always available to help students who may be struggling. Class assignments are always clearly explained, so if you go to class, you’ll be able to keep up with the course load. Upper-level classes generally have a small number of students, which means you’ll be guaranteed face time with your professors. They’ll know your name, know your learning style, and know how to help you succeed.

Studying is definitely a must if you want to succeed at LC. You should plan to set aside two or three hours a day outside of class to keep up with projects, papers, and tests. Take advantage of both student-led study sessions and your professors’ scheduled office hours. The transition from high school to LC will be more difficult than the transition to a public university, but the results are worth it. LC graduates leave the school prepared to excel in their fields.

I dont think I have one positive thing to say about this school, who ever gave this school the grade of a B for girls is on meth 95% are fat and have yellow teeth the other 5% that are only about a 7 or an 8 and thats being VERY kind are wifed up or get ran through by all the black guys on the football team on top of all that you cant even bring them back to your room onto another subject the food is atrocious and fattening but apparently that doesnt matter in pineville,la if you enjoy letting loose on the weekends have fun driving to laffayette which is essentially a giant crack town and more than an hour away plus you do all this work for what is some of the worst bars and clubs i have ever seen.....since i was 15, the dorms are small and old and they flood whenever it rains the bathrooms are comunal and the showers cave in with mold the fatass linemen dont shower and leave staff infection on the toilet seats also the education you recieve is down right awful the teachers tell you the universe revolves around louisiana as if it couldnt be more the oppostie as LA is the only napoleonic state and that every historical figure was a devout lutheran good luck using this information in the real world although ive FINALLY found a positive the class sizes are great if thats all you care about along with jesus then you might have found a home here if it isnt..... Professors Are Always Availiable and Work With You.

Being a psych major has its benefits at LC. The teachers are hands on, and some own their own practice. The faculty is always available during the week. Pretty standard work load with classes like abnormal psychology and developmental psychology. Louisiana College is a religious school so there is a psychology in religion class offered. The curriculum makes it easy to juggle the psych major and any minor of your choosing. The classes are a little cramped but at LC you are more than just a number.

Online Courses

Louisana College does not offer many online classes. The few courses offered are mostly business classes, so many students choose to take online classes from other universities. Coursework is assigned on the LC Online page, which is accessible via LC's homepage. Students must be sure to keep up with reading and writing assignments. The professors are very accessible and will meet with students in person if the student is struggling with the class. Overall, though, online classes are not popular.

Did You Know? Want to be a doctor when you grow up? LC's reputation is so strong that Tulane's medical school reserves two spots for LC graduates every year.
