Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Sure LSU students gripe about everything from parking to the weather to questions about academics and more, but rarely will you meet a student who will actually tell you they wish they had gone somewhere else. The overall experience of LSU outweighs any factor students could imagine. There is an overwhelming sense of pride and allegiance to the University that unites all LSU students. The phrase, “I bleed purple and gold,” holds more true than anyone could imagine.

LSU is all about experiences. It’s the experiences of community, whether it be through football games, through nightlife, through more academic organizations, or through living on campus. Students appreciate the fact they are at something far bigger than themselves. The size of the University presents students with opportunities to do so much from getting involved academically to finding a boyfriend or girlfriend. It’s about the experiences of involvement from joining a frat to working on campus to not doing anything at all. LSU seems to offer anything any student could imagine. The experience of going to LSU is so unique and exciting, students cannot even fathom what it would be like to have gone somewhere else.

LSU is such a diverse campus, encompassing all nationalities and academic concentrations. I love encountering different people and having fun with them. I have no regrets coming here, and will always try to sway people to bleed purple and gold.

I love LSU and could not see...

I love LSU and could not see myself anywhere else. There is a unique camaraderie and pride shared by LSU students, faculty, and alumnae. There is an organization and a major for everyone at LSU. The diversity of experiences that LSU offers is very important to me. I feel like, overall, it continues to grow and change for the better, and I don’t think LSU is afraid to use trial and error to find the best way to run things. I feel like a student’s education is what the student puts into it. I’ve worked hard at LSU, and I feel like I’ve learned a lot because of it. I don’t feel like the vastness of LSU is a bad thing. At LSU, they don’t hold your hand and spoon feed you, and I feel that it really gives students fresh from high school a chance to sink or swim on their own. In my opinion, that’s what college is for.

I never wanted to come to LSU. But...

I never wanted to come to LSU. But the moment I stepped on campus, I fell in love. There is something about this place that you can’t describe that gets in your skin and makes you enjoy everything about this school. It has something for everyone. There are more than 350 organizations to get involved in, so you’re bound to find something you like. The people are friendly and amazingI learn something new everyday. The energy and pride at LSU is an experience in itself amongst the education, friends, and fun.
