Our Greek students do a lot for our community but due to max size of groups and the number of students that apply, only a small percentage actually get in. Also fraternity's don't have trouble with 20 guys living in a house together but sororities can't, it's not a school issue but a Louisiana state law that prohibits more that 7 (unrelated) girls living in a house together so most sorority girls live in dorms or apartments.

The campus internet is probably the fastest i have ever used. wireless internet is everywhere as well. depending on which dorms you stay in the wifi could be iffy. i recommend all but the ones that go over 3 stories high(only 1 is this tall). but even if your stuck on the top floor of our tallest dorm the internet is accessible through phone lines, still really fast. And you can install your own routers, bout 20 bucks out of pocket but worth it.

Really warm summers, shorts and tanks are advised. the weather and temperature's are fairly moderate and with warning systems through campus email and school police text messages, horrible weather is no problem (it's rare anything happens though, i get messages mainly about road closures and the occasional thunder storm).

Tech is an extremely well located university. You can have the scenic small town feel with Monroe, LA a short distance away (aprox. 20-30 min). True you have to find your own means of getting there but with all the friendly students and locals it isn't hard finding a group that's heading there and still feel safe with your fellow students with friendly interactions.

I love the food and the convenience of our cafe, but for a student that remains on the weekends the food isn't as good. On the weekends there is just less variety. I understand the cost efficiency and that there are less students on the weekend but i think a little more could be done.

the weather is great in the fall and summer, barely any rain and when it does rain,it is usually in the afternoon or night

diversity is great, you can turn a corner and there could be some people from other countries right there

Louisiana tech university is a great school to attend. Although some of the teachers can put a big workload on you. The scoring of test is good and test are not too bad

Business is an easy major to get into. Anyone in the school can get into the College of Business. The Honors program was a bit harder to get into with a minimum of 27 on the ACT or equivalent.

I love the teachers and the optimism the school generally has. The education that I am receiving for the money I am paying feels significant compared to the prices of other colleges in my state.

I plan on having an internship because experience is respected exponentially more than school in the field that I am studying. Managing a business cannot be fully taught and a lot must be learned by experience.

At Tech there are multiple places where you can find access to a computer, sometimes the library is pretty full, but there are a couple more computer labs that are easy to access and are usually fairly empty.

The dorms at Louisiana Tech are awful and very old. They are all run down and basically falling apart. Once you you get to move into an apartment, those are all pretty nice. Most of them are four bedrooms with upstairs.

It was everything I needed. I can get any degree I want as a business major (including my doctrine). Everyone from professors to the advisors are there to assist you. The school built a new state of the art business building right before I got there so the facility has everything I need. Jobs are almost guaranteed after graduation. Louisiana Tech has the highest return of interest in the state post-graduation (even over LSU).

Health & Safety:
During my time at Louisiana Tech, I have not seen or heard of any criminal activity there. I feel safer there then I do at home sometimes.

I've met a lot of Greek students my freshman year and they all are cool people. They are not only involved in school affairs, but in the community as well.

Everything is pretty organized. There are signs to tell drivers where they are designated to park. Our parking lots also have different colored lines to tell which spot to park in; whether you be a student, professor, or just a visitor. We also are required to register stickers, notifying if we are a student of the University.

I love Tech, but I have a lot of complaints about the housing options. The few options we have are not good ones. First of all, everyone one must have 80 credit hours in order to live off campus, which would be fine if the living conditions on campus were better and cheaper. The options we have are, to live in a small dorm room with one or two roommates or to live on an on campus apartment with 1 or 3 roommates. In two dorm halls there are community bathrooms and in one hall there is one bathroom per two rooms. Each hall has a different problem, including mold, roach infestation, or rat infestation. These are typical dorm room conditions, but the prices are ridiculous and many times unaffordable, especially for students paying for their education on their own. The apartments are better conditioned, but completely unaffordable. In addition, a student living on campus must have an expensive meal plan that gives more food than a human can even consume in a weeks time. The housing office is also very nonnegotiable and inconvenient to reason with.

There is definitely diversity at Tech, racially, economically and politically. Being that Tech is in rural northern Louisiana, the overall religion is Protestant Christianity. I am a Christian, but I still see the lack of diversity in this area. The school is not entirely Christian, but Christians are most definitely the majority. I do believe, however, that the tolerance level is fair. Fights or quarrels are not common, though there is disagreement regarding religious beliefs. Overall, Tech is an accepting place where students are free to express their beliefs, and talk about disagreements like mature adults.

Great school academically if you are willing to put in the effort.

Its not great but its not just horrible unless you live in a dorm!

Health & Safety:
The safety is great at Louisiana Tech, when you need help the cops come immediately. also there are escorts to drive you around late at night.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
