The policies are a little conservative but reasonable

Tech is pretty diverse in terms of everything really. There's a little bit of everything but more conservatives as a whole live and go to Tech making political beliefs predominantly conservative. There is also racism and prejudices, especially amongst frats and sorority members.

We live in an area where there are a lot of mainly republican, Caucasian, Catholic/Christian families. Regardless of this i have yet to see any form of discrimination against any group of peoples. Also, our school has a very large percentage of minorities and international students. Being American Indian myself, the school is very welcoming to ethnic groups and has programs and international events that can either make the student feel more comfortable, gain knowledge of a heritage, or bring a little of home to our campus.

diversity is great, you can turn a corner and there could be some people from other countries right there

There is definitely diversity at Tech, racially, economically and politically. Being that Tech is in rural northern Louisiana, the overall religion is Protestant Christianity. I am a Christian, but I still see the lack of diversity in this area. The school is not entirely Christian, but Christians are most definitely the majority. I do believe, however, that the tolerance level is fair. Fights or quarrels are not common, though there is disagreement regarding religious beliefs. Overall, Tech is an accepting place where students are free to express their beliefs, and talk about disagreements like mature adults.
