College Prowler Take
Without a football team, Loyola seems to be lacking in the school spirit department. The basketball team isn’t known for its playing abilities, so few spectators attend the games. The men’s lacrosse team seems to be the most popular sport on campus, along with the soccer team. This is because these teams do pretty well during their seasons, and everyone loves to support a winning team. Showing up for games is easy because every student can get tickets with their student ID. Many students join in athletics through intramural teams. There are teams for anything from innertube water polo to squash to flag football. With the amazing FAC, there’s no shortage of student recreation opportunities.

Varsity sports are kind of popular. Mostly, the lacrosse and soccer teams are the most popular because they are the best teams we have. But it’s not crazy like some big schools. IM sports are pretty big, though. Almost everyone I know is on some team. It’s a good way to do something active, yet not get so involved. |
