College Prowler Take
The Fitness and Aquatic Center is gorgeous. It’s two floors of crazy fun. There's a rock-climbing wall, a weight-lifting room, a few pools, a sauna, racquetball, basketball and floor hockey courts, an indoor track, and workout rooms for different fitness classes. You can take any class under the sun including yoga, Pilates, water aerobics—whatever you want. One downfall is that sometimes the gym turns into a bit of a fashion show since some students feel the need to wear only the most fashionable workout clothes with a matching sweat towel. Obviously, the gym can sometimes seem more of a social hangout than a fitness center. Not to worry, though—a good number of students realize the purpose of the place and actually go there to get a good workout.

The library was renovated in 2008. It is a nice facility with a video viewing room, individual viewing stations, and study areas. This is a popular place during exams. The FAC (gym) is very nice with an Olympic-sized pool, a rock-climbing wall, weight room, track, squash court, classrooms, basketball courts, and soccer fields. Most students go to the FAC several times a week.

The facilities are very nice at Loyola, particularly the athletic facility. The library was recently renovated, and Loyola is part of a connected library system where you can request a book from another college and pick it up within 24 to 72 hours. The student center has everything you need and is fairly efficient. The only issue I have is a lack of balance within the academic departments. For example, fine arts is generally forgotten and does not have the best facilities it could possibly offer, yet, the science and business departments are constantly updated and maintained.

FactsWhat To Do on Campus
There is not very much to do on campus at Loyola—which seems to be the No. 1 student complaint. Going to the FAC to work out seems to be one of the most popular social activities. The only other real on-campus option is going to get food in one of the dining halls with your friends.
Favorite Things To Do
Discovering new bars, eating crepes at Sofi’s Crepes, getting Rita’s Italian Ice, going out downtown, painting pottery at Amazing Glaze, and relieving stress at the driving range.
Coffeehouse on Campus
- Surf‘n Joe in the College Center , but it is not a place where you can sit down with your friends and chat. However, they definitely know how to make a latte there
- The Evergreen Café is on Cold Spring Lane, which is a short walk from the Loyola West Residences
