College Prowler Take
For freshmen everywhere, the first few weeks, maybe even semesters, of college life can be a daunting experience. Sharing a room with a total stranger, making a whole new circle of friends, and learning how to cope with professors and lecture classes can be enough to make anyone rethink the decision to go away to school. Fortunately for students at Loyola, these anxieties are quickly replaced by school pride and affection for the intelligent professors, gorgeous dormitories, and exciting nightlife. The opportunities at Loyola are endless. You can take part in student government groups and get hands-on experience with politics. If you’re more of a sports star, there are intramural and club sports to join. And as Loyola students love to do, there’s always a bar nearby for taking a break from the books.
While Loyola has a great list of pros, there are some cons to life on campus. There is little diversity among the student body, which for some is a major downfall. You won’t get exposed to many different walks of life unless you actively seek out people who are different from you. However, in a city like Baltimore, there will definitely be opportunities for this. Life at Loyola can be as interesting and as exciting as you want it to be.
