I am a returning adult student therefore I have a different outlook on the school and how I utilize the resources the school offers. I have worked hard to get into Loyolo so I extend myself to everything the school offers.

Facts

Traditions
  • Hunger Week: Sponsored by University Ministry, Hunger Week comes around once a year in October. Students work to heighten awareness of world hunger by fasting and doing service projects.
  • Late Night Breakfast: For one night, the Gentile Center becomes a gigantic greasy spoon, hosting students for a late-night omelet and pancake extravaganza.
  • The Loyola Ramblers vs. UIC Flames Basketball Game: The University of Illinois Chicago is Loyola’s fiercest foe. In recent years, the rivalry was sparked by the play of two brothers: Loyola star David Bailey and his brother Martell.
  • President’s Ball: Once a year, Loyola puts on a celebration for its brightest and best to go and receive awards while wearing suits. P-Ball is the closest thing the University comes to having a homecoming dance, so if you like to get down to Rednexx and do the Macarena, strap on your dancing shoes and find yourself a ticket.
Urban Legends A frustrated priest murdered a nun on the top floor of Skyscraper Building. Her ghost supposedly still haunts the floor, to the delight of thrill-seeking students.
