Loyola just hands out the money like it's nothing.

I, thankfully, received a little bit of scholarship money because of my GPA at my school before I transferred, but wish I had received more. I got $3,500 per semester (which is a lot of money, don't get me wrong), but it was for having over a 3.0 GPA at my old school, which was definitely a LOT harder academically than this school.

I have found the financial aid to be pretty good here. I know of many people, myself included, who have very good merit scholarships because Loyola is big on giving those out. They seem to give out several types of awards to students, all of which are fair. Their major downside is their work study here. My roommate and several others I know lost their work study because of a mistake/misunderstanding on the university's part. They have yet to hear back on getting their work study returned to them.

The scholarship process for graduate students needs to improve.

OBTAINING FEDERAL LOANS WAS AN EASY PROCESS AND LOYOLA'S WEBSITE HAS HELPFUL RESOURCES AND LINKS TO WALK YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS. FINANCIAL AID COUNSELORS ARE ALSO FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO WALK THROUGH THE AID YOU RECEIVE. SCHOLARSHIPS, ASSISTANTSHIPS AND OTHER GRANTS ARE MANAGED BY EACH DEPARTMENT SO THIS TAKES MORE RESEARCH. AS A GRADUATE STUDENT IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT TO APPLY FOR ASSISTANTSHIPS WHEN YOU APPLY TO YOUR CHOSEN PROGRAM.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
