Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

There is one thing you can be certain about: Marlboro College is not for everyone. It takes a certain person to come here and challenge themselves to an independently-created education. To give a student freedom and endless opportunity is often a scary concept. Additionally, to create a project that reflects four years of rigorous learning is quite the undertaking. But once embarked upon, a journey through Marlboro has infinite rewards.

Consistently growing in its respectable reputation, this school will forever strive to keep the learning process focused on and around the students. Walter Hendricks wanted to make education a conversation, and that’s what Marlboro College continues to do. The College has yet to change its approach to learning. As a student at Marlboro, you can expect to be tossed around, treated like an adult, and taken to new heights. Not everything is possible at Marlboro, but once a student graduates, they have the power to imagine anything and act upon their dreams.

Not Your Typical Major/Minor Set-Up.

Majors and minors are really loose at Marlboro - everyone officially undertakes a Plan of Concentration. For Plan, it's common to have one or two larger fields of study, with one or two minor fields of study. I really enjoy the history education I'm getting - the main history professor at Marlboro is amazing. After one year of study I'm already designing tutorials to help with my Plan. While there are no specific internships for my major, I'm really happy with the offerings.

Brattleboro

Brattleboro's small, but it's a really nice town. Cool places to go are the Twilight Tea Lounge, The Works, and Beadnicks. There are also a ton of cool bookstores.

Dining Hall Food.

All the staff members in the kitchen are great, and working in the Dish pit is super fun though. That being said, some days are better for food than others. The kitchen staff always tries to accommodate for special diets, and there always Vegan and Vegetarian options.
