Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Welcome to Camp Marlboro! Most of the housing on Marlboro’s hillside campus is rustic and homey. Because the majority of our dorms are older and contain less “brick and vinyl” than other colleges, the result is a place students can make their own. Often, dorm rooms at Marlboro are extra comfy because of the wooden walls and large windows that are a part of most rooms. Also, each dorm is small in population, which results in a family-like atmosphere to come home to. The bathroom facilities are average, but again, have been used, and they are a little creaky.

Generally, students are very satisfied with their housing arrangements. Most dorms become a place students can call home. Dorms at Marlboro are not fancy when it comes to exercise suites, spas, pools, or game rooms. In fact, none of the dorms have these amenities. But most have a common area with a television (for movies and video games only) and couches for parties and get-togethers. The dorm rooms here are cozy and comfortable, but if luxury living is what you’re looking for, then living on campus is not your best option.

Small Dorms Mean Great Relationships

All the dorms at Marlboro are pretty small, no more than say, 30 people in a dorm. The best dorms are the newly renovated Howland, Happy Valley because there are great parties and the rooms are pretty big. The worst are Shrader, Half-Way/ All-The-Way, Marlboro Gardens (aka the Trailer).

Small Dorm Life

The dorms at Marlboro are pretty small, around 20 or so to a dorm. Not every dorm has a common room, but this is a good thing. With so few people, it's better that they congregate in fewer spaces. A quick breakdown - Happy Valley- the common room has the only indoor smoking space, Happy Valley throws a lot of parties and drinks a lot. Howland- Two dorms smashed together with a large shared common room. Howland's bathrooms are shared. (but you could walk for 30 seconds and find a single) Random North- no common room, nothing to talk about. Random South- smells funny. Schrader is cooler than the Trailer, and Half-Way doesnt seem to do much. Pretty much every dorm is 2 minutes away from everything so really pick any dorm but Random South

We never know what the dorms will...

We never know what the dorms will be like. Last year, the scary dorm would have been Schrader, because it was the crazy dorm, or Out of the Way, because it was too far away. Apparently, though, the scary dorm changes every year, depending on who ends up living where.

Cleaning Service

Public spaces in dorms are cleaned twice a week very thoroughly, and the Dining Hall is cleaned every day. The cleaning staff is one of the most underappreciated groups on campus, because their job is never easy.
