The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is more of a friend than a foe when it comes to campus strictness. Rather than having the “I am out to get you” attitude, the personnel are more concerned about the students’ safety. Yes, the public safety officers will take appropriate measures to ensure some form of punishment if a student is caught committing an illegal act, but the aim is more about protection. DPS officers are not able to write up any form of ticket.

Unlike the more lenient attitude towards underage drinking, there are no excuses when it comes to drugs. You do the crime, you do the time. University Public Safety officials and the Milwaukee Police Department will both ensure punishment, whether it be a ticket, counseling, or probation. Overall, the DPS is not out to spoil your fun, but rather, to help create a more safe and enjoyable atmosphere for us to live in.

Marquette Is Very Strict in Certain Areas

C

The school does not really care about underage drinking so long as you do not do it in the dorms or get attention from the police. Security will break up excessively rowdy parties, but will not penalize students. That being said, Marquette is very strict with overnight policy and will write up female students for being on male floors after a certain time and vice versa. also

Strict to the Max..

As a religous university, you can easily determine that there are some strict rules. Underage drinking is prohibited in the City of Milwaukee, so if youre 21 you're okay. I dont know for sure what happens if anyone gets arrested because there is hardly any sorts of problems that involve strict use of force.

The guest rules can be a pain sometimes, but over all it's alright.

The campus is quite strict...

The campus is quite strict regarding visitors in the dorms. All guests must be checked in and only males can sign in males for the night and vice-versa. Campus security and RAs are pretty easy going about drinking and just make sure that things do not get too out of control.

The cops and public safety...

The cops and public safety officers are pretty lenient about drinking, but not so much when it comes to drugs. They never really give out fines, but I hear of parties being broken up every so often. No one ever gets in trouble, though, which is nice.
