College Prowler Take
A nice change from the typical on-campus food selection of sub sandwiches or greasy burgers, the downtown area offers enough dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. Options range from chili con queso to typical bar food to more elegant options. With such an extensive selection, the problem is not deciding what to have, but deciding what to try tonight! Milwaukee probably has enough restaurants for you to eat out one meal a day, everyday, and never dine at the same place twice (that is, unless, of course, you find a favorite), but the phrase “lack of funds” will start to become very familiar. That being said, there’s no problem with treating yourself to fine-dining cuisine every so often and on special occasions, but if you do give into temptation, just remember to keep your food budget in mind.

Dude, Sobleman's is a 10-minute walk away! You just have to get down the 16th Street Bidge via the stairs. It's no big deal. Right around campus there isn't a whole lot within a few blocks, but a litle further and you get some great stuff like the Water Buffelo, Water St. Brewery, and the Safehouse. It's all pretty fun. Plus, the Milwaukee public market is fun and full of interesting stuff.

Off-campus, but not far from campus at all, there are tons of restaurants to go to. The mall is within walking distance, too, and they have a huge food court. Some of the places even take your MarquetteCASH. |

There are so many restaurants in Milwaukee that I don’t even want to try and list them all, but you’ll get a pass that gives you free rides on all the city buses, and that will get you pretty much anywhere in the city or in Milwaukee county, so it is easy to keep finding new places. |
