College Prowler Take
There’s no need to worry about transportation at Marquette. Not only is the Marquette campus and surrounding area compact enough for most destinations to be within walking distance, but also, MU supplies every student a UPASS (free bus pass) at the start of each fall term for unlimited bus transportation over the Milwaukee area. The Milwaukee County Transit System provides transportation anywhere from down the street or out to the next city. Also, the University manages a system of student-driven van transports known as LIMOS (Local Inter-campus Mobile Operation Service), especially useful during winter months, which serves as an alternative method of transportation for students and travels anywhere within a 10-block radius of campus. Whatsoever you choose, both services are free of charge and extremely valuable.
Common modes of transportation by students involve the ever-so-popular Milwaukee County Transit System, local taxicabs, or Marquette’s own LIMO service. Other forms of out-of-town transportation include the Greyhound Bus, Amtrak train station, and the General Mitchell International Airport. Whether you’re traveling near or far; it’s all cheap, easy, and convenient.

Marquette has a student-run safety program called LIMO that will take you anywhere on campus and in the outlying areas around campus. It’s a free service, and they usually have at least three vans running all night long. At night on the weekends, as many as eight vans can be running at once, taking students from one side of campus to the other. The city bus line gives free rides to Marquette students because of the free unlimited bus pass, called the U-Pass that each student receives. It’s pretty sweet because with the U-Pass you don’t have to shell out cash just to go downtown. |
