There isn't that much to do in Huntington where the campus is located. there is a mall about 10 minutes away and a few other things. if you want to go shopping, you will have to drive a bit

There are a lot of bars and pubs.. the river is within walking distance, but there isn't a whole lot to do off campus. Fortunately, there is always something interesting and awesome going on within the university

There is always something to do but it's not always something you'd want to do. Marshall does try hard to bring in different celebrities as part of their artist series for students and the community to enjoy.

Huntington is a small city with many job opportunities and activities for students. A few blocks down from campus is Pullman Square. There is a movie theater and plenty of stores to browse through. On the outskirts of Huntington, there is also a small amusement park called Camden Park. As for the local attitude toward students, the people of Huntington are very welcoming and supportive. However, as in all cities, big or small, there are some safety issues involving crime.

I absolutely love downtown Huntington. It's filled with lots of local businesses, which I love to support. It has a quintessential feel to it, but if you're up for more mainstream places like a mall, Barboursville is just a fifteen minute drive away.
